On tap at their upstairs bar, Sleeping Lady's Belgian IPA is a clear dull gold with wispy white skim that leaves nice lace in spite of the lack of head.

Smell is pungent, resinous, West coast style hops. Nothing noble here, and any Belgian yeast esters are long gone. But that okay because it smells good.

Taste is similarly pungent, pine resin hops. Light phenols, with a hint of tropical fruit esters that I'm really pleasantly surprised to see break through the hops. Very good.

Mouthfeel is very creamy and dry, with a light body for the size, which reinforces the Belgian characteristics.

Drinkability is high. I love these type of Belgian IPAs, American hybrid style, rather then ones that try to be 'pure' Belgian IPAs, all yeasty, using only spicy and herbal noble hops. Since the Belgians are just emulating the American's anyways, why bother? This is how I like them, well done.

On tap at Humpy's yesterday.

The beer pours a peachy orange gold color, with good, creamy head retention and decent lacing. On the nose, I get an enticing aroma of orange citrus, coriander and light honey. The flavor profile is impressively complex, with orange, honey, spice and hoppy bitterness. It's toned down just a bit from what I get on the nose, which I assume speaks to the relatively low alcohol in this beer. The finish is distinctly bitter, which helps to balance very nicely the upfront sweetness in this beer. Mouthfeel is light, creamy and refreshing. Alcohol is well disguised and drinkability is exceptional for the style.

Not bad at all. A very nice beer from Sleeping Lady.
