Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can, but this is the 2024 version of Freshious.
Appearance: rich golden hue with a dash of haze, a light effervescence, and a thick head of frothy light-tan foam. It actually looks really good.
Smell: fresh, green, grassy, earthy hops, atop a moderately sweet malt base. A nice showcase for fresh hops!
Taste: toasty malt with a fair dose of sweetness and more of those earthy, grassy hops. I find it to be a bit more toward the malt end of the spectrum than I normally like for a fresh hop. Not bad, but kind of a letdown relative to the aroma.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a reasonably good fresh hop beer, but the sweetness of the malt is a bit much for me, at least in relation to the hop element that’s present here in the flavor.
