A thin head is transient, leaving no lacing, above a cloudy golden ale within a snifter glass.

The aroma overwhelmingly brings rubber balloons to the memory complex. With some effort one is able to tease out apricot, but the one note is dominating.

The flavor is quite tart, with apricots clearly present. This is rather surprising, given the aroma. This is a monochromatic beer, with a drawn-out finish.

The light to medium body allows the carbonation to feel greater than it actually is, within a satin texture.

Prison City has produced a fine Berliner Weiss, which is difficult. In my opinion they have some cleaning-up to do here, but the potential is real, and well worth the effort.

Bottle shared by Ben at Zwanze Day.

This pours a nice slightly hazy orange color, with a very small head, barely anything, and no lacing.

Smells like freshly pureed apricot, skins and all, with a nice lactic quality that slightly stings the nose.

This has a really great sour fruit quality that really reminds me of De Garde, honestly, which is pretty high praise. The apricot character is stunning, fresh and vibrant, with a fairly sour, stinging undercurrent, and just the slightest bit of funk. It's maybe a little one-note, again like De Garde, but that one note is super delicious.

This is light bodied, with a crisp and tart mouthfeel, and a somewhat lower level of carbonation.

A definite home-run from Ben at Prison City- just really excellent stuff.
