This beer pours a moderately hazy pale golden color with a 3 finger, creamy white head that has less than average retention for the style. There is a bit of spotted lacing left on the glass.
Smell is fairly subdued. Banana and clove are most prominent, but there is also a bit of wheat, fresh dough and bread crust as well.
Taste is the same, again subdued. The flavors go well together and are spot on for the style, but there just isn't enough of them.
Feel is light and comes across a little watery because it seems to be lacking carbonation.
Overall this beer is alright. I am a huge fan of hefeweizens and this one has the flavors profile spot on, but they are too subdued. The feel and carbonation is also off. Prison City is a fantastic brewery, and I do believe this is their first crack at a hefeweizen (I could most definitely be wrong, as I only make it out there a couple of times per month.) but it is fairly run of the mill. The potential is there though, and I will definitely be updating this review after trying newer batches.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
