another delicious ipa from these guys, thanks to my brother for sending out the can. a really cool expression of el dorado a little different than what i have gotten used to from this hop, i think the citra takes it somewhere new here, not just ripe cantaloupe, but now mandarin orange and meyer lemon too, but this isnt all hops, it has some nice fluffy and starchy earthen grain appeal, and presents itself as more balanced than a lot of these heavily dry hopped hazy ones, i could drink a bunch of cans of this if i had them. hazy light orange look to it, not overly dense or anything, and with a tall white head on it. im not sure i would pick it out as el dorado driven from the nose, there more fruitiness here than the usual notes, subtle passion fruit and mango too, but also just a little green bitter bite it seems. the flavor confirms, but the el dorado is more recognizable here, juicy and fresh and carried through the whole beer by the pale malt foundation. i like how dry this is so the hops are pure and by themselves on the swallow. the quality here is high, and there is an obvious synergy between the two hop varietals that i have not really experienced like this before, even if ive had them in beers together in the past, this tastes somewhat new to me, which is hard to do in a hazy these days, where so many of them are basically identical. nice beer, very enjoyable at the end of a long week, prison city does a nice job with these.

Looks like most NE IPA's, that's not a bad thing. Nice Hop smell not over powering. Taste is amazing, better than Mass Riot. For a 7.5 ABV smooth not boozy. Overall probably the best IPA Ben has made since Mass Riot.
