American light lager with 40% rice. Super light, clean, dry, and a crispy finish that begs for lots of additional sips.

a tasty can of lager here, clear and incredibly pale yellow, almost watered down in appearance, but i can taste and darn i even say smell the rice in here, the lager yeast has penty of character, and there is still a pils malt element as well, flavorful and summery, and lives up to its name in terms of texture. a hint of cut flowers and lawn from whatever hops are in here, light neutral starch, doughy malt, light lemon, and curious twangy astringency, but only for a second. the flavor has just a bit of a weird aftertaste, like it could be a little cleaner for what it is, but i like the weirdness, this could be selected easily from a crowd of these, which i like. beer flavored beer, but not just a yellow one as they go, the rice is obvious, keeps the beer light but not bland, and the yeast is there too so its not one dimensional. this is like a mellow german pils meeting a japanese rice lager for me, an easy and very light summer pounder that isnt another boring golden ale, blonde, or cream ale. i have not had nearly enough prison city beer, its awesome to see them canning now, and a big debt of gratitude to my brother for shipping this all the way out idaho for me. i keep thinking golf course beer with this one. not much room for less than perfect execution in a beer this light, but where this is a little amateur is completely endearing.

This one pours a very clear light straw yellow, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like grassy hops, slightly sweet malt, and corn.
This is exactly what it wants to be. It's crisp and super clean, with absolutely no flaws. It's super light on flavor, with some corn and grainy sweetness, and a light crisp and grassy hop flavor.
This is light bodied, and super drinkable, wih no discernible flaws.
Light lagers are never going to be my favorite style, but when they're done exceedingly well like this, of course I'm going to like them.
