16oz can into a pint glass. Freshness dating isn't clear.
Fantastic looking pint. Thick pale orange juice body, persistent white head, and a thick sheet of lacing. There are some non citrus fruit notes in the aroma. On tasting, certainly hoppy, fleeting sweetness, before a herbal bitterness rolls in. Mouth is full, finish bitter.
Overall, taste doesn't suggest a NE ipa, but still an interesting and enjoyable drink.

Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Date stamp appears to be 10/31/23. This iteration of the recipe is brewed with Nelson + Galaxy + Motueka, according to the label.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a heavy haze and a thick finger of frothy eggshell foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt with a fruity hop aroma that has some notes of tropical passionfruit as well as some zesty grapefruit/citrus type aromas. It’s good, but a little more volume would be nice.
Taste: again, sweet (not surprising for an 8% hazy), with a bit of a tropical-infused hop flavor. It’s good, but it lacks a certain juiciness or complexity. It could be the couple months’ age on this can, of course. Still, I’m enjoying it well enough.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and a nice, rich, smooth creaminess. Capital!
Overall: a pretty decent hazy IPA. I would like to try it at the source, even fresher, because Nelson + Galaxy + Motueka is really a great combo.

On tap at Trata in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like passionfruit, grape, watermelon, pineapple, and mango.
This is yet another solid entry in the Riot series, with a spicy bitterness, and an exotic, soft, and juicy hop character. There's pear, lime, passionfruit, white grape, an almost watermelon like sweetness, with some grassiness and more typical pineapple and mango flavors.
This is light bodied, clean, with a nice lingering bitterness, and a very nice drinkability.
Prison City continues to be pretty consistent even with their big expansion, which I love to see.

cool mix of modern southern hemisphere varietals in a big thick hazy base beer, maybe not gorgeously refined, but better than a lot of what else is out there, and a cool vehicle for all these hops, which are on the precipice of being overdosed, but come just short of being green and biting. sometimes i wonder why these all have to be so thick, its not the abv that gets me its the weight, almost yeasty, but nothing these guys do ever seems by accident, so how did we get here? can anyone drink four of these? i just dont get it. that said, if we need this level of starchiness for these hops to emerge, than thats just the way it is, because the hop profile here is awesome, key lime, lemongrass, white wine, white currant, green grape, and ripe pear, almost estery, very bright and very fresh from the tap right at the brewery. the bodys is big and fulling, which slows it down, but it warms up so well i am almost thankful for it. just a little alcohol tickle late, enough carbonation cutting through, and even a little bitterness to help snap up the finish. awesome mix of hops on this one, unique even, and a nice hearty wintery base. a style i am fatiguing on, but this is great.

No legible dating, but social media post would indicate that this is < a week old.
Hazy, moderately-murky gold, with 1.5 fingers of creamy white head, that leaves a 1/2" ring, and substantial lacing.
Smell is ...whhoooa.... wonderful ! Fresh (as in just cut into) pineapple, mango, kiwi, papaya, persimmon, red grapefruit, maybe some lemon rind, and a touch of "fresh" crackery malt. Smelled it as soon as I cracked the can, & still smelling it from 5' as I take a photo for WBAYDN? .
Taste is mostly creamy pineapple, fresh-squeezed orange juice, kiwi, and white grape, with hints of grapefruit, and a vague herbal flavor. Light bitterness, that lingers a bit.
Feel is initially medium and creamy, with some light, sharp carbonation bite coming in on the latter half, lending a slightly drier finish and aftertaste.
Overall, just a pleasure. THIS is a good example of why NEIPAs are so popular. I don't remember what it cost.....& I don't care. ;) (fyi, less $ than some more popular beers, that aren't as good. ;) )

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Samuel Adams Perfect pint glass; canned 04/12/21.
A: Pours a cloudy, golden orange color with exuberant carbonation and clearing, leaving a four finger, off-white head, strong retention (nearly a finger), and thick rings turn into sheets of sticky lacing.
S: The aromas of pineapple and mango are strongest with a clear malty core. An herbal, basil or oregano note doesn't linger long.
T: Semisweet. Pineapple, mango, peach, caramel, and cocoa blend, providing a balance with the moderate bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with good persistence of carbonation (on swirl test).
O: I have been very impressed by Prison City Brewing's IPAs; this is no exception.

Had on tap at PCPB. Overall another top notch PC brew. Nice looking but color haze was a bit murky / muddy. Nose and taste spot on for ANZ hops used. Feel very smooth. Not my favorite Riot but still a great NEIPA.
