Aged in Buffalo Trace and 4R barrels;
Pours a cola amber until the glass fills at which point it is clearly black with a decent ring of caramel bubbles which quickly reduces to a nearly still liquid. Nose is big toasted oak and vanilla with some alcohol as well as chocolate, burnt coffee and a coconut undertone. Taste follows suit with vanilla taking center stage and finishing toasted malt and cola. Feel is medium/thin. Overall, good. 3.25/5

Whatever barrels used for this June 2022 version…yes, please. Everything about it is balanced, enjoyable, fun. I won’t even get into all the elements. It’s not a dry stodgy thing. It’s not a hyperbolic dessert bomb. It hits a balance of serious and playful that really just works. Instabuy. Wait. No. Don’t buy it. I will buy it.
