This robust porter gets a nice addition of Madagascar vanilla beans.
A hearty winter's treat for post outdoor fun stuff or not leaving the house for a few days stuff.

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells very roasty, almost charred, with some caramel and vanilla.
There’s not a lot of vanilla here, but it’s adequate and adds a subtle sweet dimension to a very roasty and herbal base porter. There’s some chocolate, but it’s mostly roast and charred malt here.
This is creamy, slightly thin, but not overly so, with a great drinkability.
I appreciated the restrained flavor addition to this, and how at its core it was a solid roasty porter.

I’m not sure how I talked myself into buying a random vanilla Porter from a brewery I’ve never heard of before, but I guess that’s the power of Tavour huh? Regardless, I’m sure it’ll still be solid. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours almost completely pitch black with 2 fingers of creamy light tan head tjay fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is a bit one note, but not bad all things considered. I’m picking up on aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla ice cream, brown bread, caramel, brown sugar, and raisin
It’s got a bit more depth in taste, but this is still a primarily vanilla affair. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting vanilla bean, dark toast, milk chocolate, black cherry, brown sugar, light peppery hops, and caramel. The swallow brings notes of vanilla bean, cocoa powder, burnt toast, caramel, light roast coffee, leafy hops, and light honey
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes neutral with a slight bitterness
This isn’t anything amazing but pretty damn good for what it is

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a fine, three finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, mild cocoa and a little mineral. Flavor is medium dark toasted malt, vanilla, milk chocolate and some coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess; nice mouth feel. A somewhat low key, but nicely balanced vanilla porter with classic porter body, smooth and pleasant. Vanilla is well handled, a clear note but not dominating. At first taste I thought the malt lacked some char and had mellow chocolate and coffee character, but the integrated balance really grew on me. The fine mouth feel and nice creamy head topped off an enjoyable porter.

Had a can from Ma and Pa’s. Nice smooth old style porter with a nice hint of vanilla.

Pours dark. Tan foam. Vanilla aroma. Roasted malt and vanilla body. Bitter coffee with a light sweet finish. Solid but not overly exciting.
