Our all malt interpretation of a Belgian style favorite. Deceptively smooth with a nice fruity background and hints of spice.

Gem clear amber copper with slowly rising flecks of tiny carbonation. The one-inch almond head is foamy and lasts about two minutes without leaving any lace. A thin film rises up the Cisco fisheye pint glass.
The aroma is fruity and floral with notes of caramel and light herbs. There may have been some parsley. A light, yeasty funk evoked beer yeast moreso than bread.
The flavor profile follows the nose while adding fenols. Lots of caramel, white pepper, and a slight bitterness that overtakes the sweetness. It is quite yeasty with a long, dry finish.
The medium to full body has a slick texture. Slight carbonation. Alcohol is well controlled, though there is some astringency.
Caramel is out of balance as is the sweetness. Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable beer, albeit out of style. The story behind the beer and the brewery is interesting and inspiring. The brewery and tasting room are in a beautifully restored old stone and timber building. We met and talked to the brewer who could not have been more welcoming and kind. The beer is definitely worthy and with a few tweeks could be much improved.
