Dang I've had multiple vintages of this and I'm yet to do a review. Heck, there isn't a review of any vintage up in here. Time to put in some work for this Next Glass owned database.
Pours brown. Its ruddy buddy. Not the sexiest looking beer, but all the other attributes will score higher, so don't fret. Smallish head barely 1/10" kind of filmish vibe going for it. The aroma boasts a giant hit of toffee. Unsweetened. Average amount of bourbon in the nose, seems inviting.
Both bourbon and malty marisotterbois make up the substantial majority of the taste aspect. Earthy with its wood and grain. There is almost no hop bitterness, this fits the English barleywine distinction. Smooth mouthfeel, pretty easy to drink for something barleywine strength. Its a nice fitting tribute, so many barleywines are stout blends or gigantic ass abv numbers relative to these OGs. There is a light caramel like sweetness in tandem with that toffee sensation. Decent stuff, deuces.

Soft edges, very approachable.
