Pours a cloudy, brown'ish amber, coppery coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells intoxicatingly of bready, slightly caramelly malt, juniper and apple brandy, with lighter notes of citrus, apricot and coriander, as well as just a hint of sea salt. Taste is an amazing balance of sweet'ish bready, slighty caramelly malt, juicy apricots, juniper and lighter notes of citrus, coriander and apple brandy, with just a hint of oak and sea salt. Finishes with a light bitterness, very light tartness and some apricots, juniper and apple brandy lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
A fantastic Pale Ale that feels a lot heavier than its ABV suggests due to some rich apple brandy barrel notes of green apple, oak and light booziness, complemented very nicely by some quite noticeable but not overpowering juniper, juicy apricots and lighter coriander and sea salt. Absolutely amazing aroma and great balance of flavors, proving onceagain that Buddelship is the finest maker of barrel-aged beers in Germany. Not to mention at a very reasonable price as well, amazing stuff.
