This pours a hazy copper colour that leans to the Orange side with a thick two finger white head. The nose leans to the malty side with some yeastiness and a citrus hop finish. Wow, boozy. The alcohol hit me harder than I would expect a 6.5%ABV to. There is some malt and caramel in the flavour but the heat seems to suppress it. The mouthfeel is on the high side of medium but get the feeling it's benefited from some extra time in the bottle. Not a bad beer but I'd rate it higher if it was slightly less boozy.

Pours a straw colour with a little head. Sediment and floaters abound.

Nose has a little fruit and biscuit but not much.

Taste follows but is weak.

Not a good beer.

330ml bottle, day 23 of the 2014 Craft Beer Advent calendar.

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden apricot amber hue, with a teeming tower of puffy, loosely foamy, and certainly fizzy off-white head, which leaves but a few wayward specks of remote islet lace in places around the glass as it slowly fizzles out. Lots of chunks near the bottom.

It smells of earthy yeast, bruised apples, faint generic citrus, a tiny funky note, and some plain, semi-sweet pale malt. The taste is, surprise - gritty, grainy pale malt, a hint of denatured caramel, edgy orange and lemon rind citrus, mildly funky yeast, and a musty, almost dead forest floor bitterness.

The bubbles are obviously quite active and pushy at times, their mostly fizzy nature becoming overbearing, the body on the light side of medium weight, and too aggressively astringent to be deemed anywhere near smooth. It finishes off-dry, the weak fruitiness and bland malt dancing a slow waltz of ennui, while the up-ticked alcohol wonders what the hell is going on.

Hmmmm...a nascent craft brewery from the 'suburbs' of Jerusalem gets a dream slot in a North American holiday mixed pack conceit, and they go for it, you say? Well, of course they would, but the results, they ain't pretty. This comes off as more of a saison, and a fairly underwhelming one to say the least. Cut corners, rookie mistakes, whatevs, I gotta give props for trying, but try again.
