Let’s face it, the Narcissist knows what’s best. You can keep your tongue-splitting bitter IPA’s, or your thicker than molasses stouts, because the Narcissist knows that what you really want is a crisp, bright, and refreshing beer. Not a bland and lifeless impostor, but a rich, light golden, malty lager with just the right level of bitterness that finishes dry and clean, leaving you ready for more. Crafted to remove gluten.

Had on tap at the brewery in Purcellville, VA. I can see why this would be a gold medal winner; it's a good style representation with a wisp of grassy hops and a light, crackery malt base although IMO it doesn't do quite enough to stand out.

Beautiful crystal clear Helles Lager with a crispy, highly carbonated bite. Excellent anytime but especially on a hot Virginia day.

Revisit as Eleven Eleven Brewing:
I quite like this beer, but it came across more as a Kölsch than a Helles - so enjoyment a bit higher than to-style ratings (which were adjusted).
On tap at brewery (revisited):
Yelllw gold, but with a light chill haze, at least. Head falls to a gossamer film with white sand beaches that help form translucent cliffs of lacing.
Upon revisit, the haze is gone and the lacing is less, but a nice white collar graves the beer most the way down the glass.
Nose is mostly malt grain that morphs into a white bread scent. There’s a little hint of noble hops and a very light spice.
Revisit doesn’t change this, though it’s more enticing this time, even though there’s a slight home brew malt bag influence.
Aggressive-leaning carbonation aids in promoting a spiciness that may or may not be from the hops. Little less bready, more grainy on the palate than the nose, the flavor is backed by a noble hop dry grassy bitterness.
Revisit doesn’t show the aggressive carbonation. A little malty sweet with a nice balancing noble hop influence that doesn’t lean the whole thing bitter.
Light and enjoyable enough. More malty than bitter, with a more classic German lean, it still could use a little more clarity of purpose - cleanliness and crispness.

Clear Pale yellow. Strong sweet malt note in the smell and taste. Very light to no hop bitterness. Malts dominate and maybe a little bit of alcohol in the nose and taste but more in the taste. Smell has more of a honey note in it. Taste is just sweet with alcohol note. Light body but no real texture but srill some body. Skip it.

Don't see too many of this style, and this is a great example. Pours a light copper color with a half finger of soapy white suds. Smell is biscuit dough, hints of pear, and a little bit of yeasty spice. Taste is bread crust, pumpernickel, slightly drying yeast. Feel is smooth, flavorful, complexity without excessiveness. This is a very well done beer. A Helles Lager at that. Well done

I'm not a fan of this style, but I thought it was pretty good.
