This juicy and easy drinking american blonde ale is brewed with tart and tropical passionfruit, reminiscent of a fine sour ale.

Sampler at brewery:
This is a weird one, as it’s brewed with passion fruit - and maybe fruited beer would be a better category (though entry follows brewery menu). Wasn’t expecting it, though description was on the menu.
A very light haze to this light gold ale. Head is fair and there’s even some lacing in the small glass.
The smell is weird as the passion fruit seems to clash a bit with the grain and hops, hiding the distinct notes of the latter. Once used to it, it’s not so bad.
Feel is light and crisp, with the tartness of the passion fruit breaking up a hay/grain opening. The tartness is backed up and dulled a bit by some neutral bitterness. Lingering note is a light pine with a tangy remnant of the passion fruit.
Different, but as a tart fruited beer leaning towards kettle sour, it’s passable.
