Belgian strong dark ale with sweet-tart cherries, vanilla, and honey in a deep ruby pour. Dessert-like, smooth, and dangerously sippable, with a caramel-brown sugar finish. The name nods to the Clúrachán, an Irish brewery spirit (similar to its leprechaun cousin) known for mischief and guarding the good stuff.
Try it cold for bright cherry or let it warm up for a boozier vibe.

On tap at brewery:
Ok, I didn’t read the brewery description very well, but the cherry I noted initially makes sense now. I didn’t initially note the vanilla, but its floral component jumps out now that I am cognizant of it. Unfortunately, to the beer’s detriment. I could use it dialed back a bit.
Beyond this aspect, though, the cherry influence is an interesting take on the style, which can be perceived through the additions. I’d really like to see what they could do with a straightforward version of the style. Which has to mean something, no?

Had on tap at the brewery in Purcellville, VA. This is a big, bad Belgian dark ale. Sweet, boozy cherry cordial, and Belgian yeast esters. Lots of dark fruit. Good stuff!
