This year we’re changing things up with an India Style Black Ale. This is the first test batch we’ve brewed for our forthcoming NEW seasonal beer, 2XIBA (autumn seasonal).

Pours a dark brown, almost black color with an off white head. The aroma was hoppy, but also toasted and nutty. There was pine, cocoa, nuts and coffee in the aroma.
In the taste, solid hoppy bitterness followed by citrus and pine. Herbal notes give way to some roast carrying nutty cocoa and coffee undertones. There is a nice balance here and a super drinkable beer.
Medium to full bodied with a medium level of carbonation. Ample body and roast and hop flavor lingers on.
Overall, a nice test batch that made its way to Pittsburgh for craft beer week. Quite a drinkable beer.
