Notes:
Barley, oats, and milk sugar boil and twirl together with fruity, tropical hops only to mingle and cool with - of course - more hops. The mixture is then conditioned and finished with strawberry and vanilla. Enjoy a bursting aroma, a creamy mouthfeel and rich notes of citrus and strawberry.

Hazy apricot color with a decent off white head that retained moderately well but did produce lots of nice lacing.
The aroma is strawberry milkshake.
The taste is somewhat more complex, still strawberry ice cream with some vanilla, pineapple and citrus notes that somehow only enhance the sensation of strawberry milkshake. The finish is slightly dry with more citrus and a touch of pine.
The body is medium with moderate carbonation and a very smooth, creamy quality that's very appropriate.
Altogether this is surprisingly tasty and enjoyable, excellent.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is full of strawberries, cream. Taste is the same as the aroma, citrus is also present, mild bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, hazy, golden yellow color with a small, white head. of bubbly foam. It left thick sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of strawberry, vanilla, cream and caramel. Nice strawberry sweetness with a hint of tart. Vanilla and cream are balanced by caramel sweetness.

Pours a pale hazy yellow. Thin foam. Sweet strawberry aroma. Big strawberry hop flavor. Bolder than I expected. Very smooth. Finishes with a nice malty sweetness. It's very good for what it is but not really my thing. Worth a try though.

16 oz. can poured into a pint glass with a hazy yellow straw color (orangish/pinkish in direct light), quickly receding white head, and minimal lacing. Smells of strawberry shortcake, vanilla, hints of tropical fruits. Tastes of strawberry milk, vanilla cream, subtle malt, grapefruit, melon, and pine/resin hops. Medium body with decent carbonation, creamy with a bittersweet aftertaste. Overall, very good, the hops do a good job of taming the sweetness.

Southern Tier Brewing Co. "Strawberry Dream"
16 fl. oz. can coded "D.O.B. 02/1/21 LKH06:19:24FL". Sampled on 05/05/21.
$4.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: Is this made with real strawberry and vanilla? I guess we'll find out. It's cloudy but nowhere near as murky as some of the "milkshake" beers I've had in the past. The head is a decent sized cap of slightly off-white froth. The aroma is definitely strawberry-like with some sugary notes as well. It smells like a dessert. I'm guessing that there are additional flavorings added here even if there are real strawberries... ah, yes, "NATURAL FLAVORS". OK, on the the taste... well, that's strawberry as well! I thought there were some hops in here (Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo, and Azacca are listed on the label) but all I'm really getting is that bright, candy-like strawberry note. No, I lied, there are some hop notes hidden in there but it really is all about the strawberry and vanilla. I should just admit here that I didn't think I was going to like this, but I do. It's far from what i thought it would be, and I'll just go ahead and say that this is basically a dessert beer. I've had other NEIPAs that were as sweet, but none that have ever had so much amped up fruity flavor to them. So, back to the beer itself, what else can I say? The malt is basic, and sweet, and there's also that added lactose but that doesn't come across clearly to me like it usually does. I'll assume there are oats in here - let me check the label... yes - but no wheat or anything else like honey malt. I think it's nicely balanced. in the mouth it's medium to medium-light in body and smooth - even a bit creamy. The head held up well and there's some very nice lacing all around the glass. If it weren't such a one-trick-pony I might be more on-board with it, but it's still quite good as it is.

Pours hazy, gold in color with one third inch head. Taste is fresh picked strawberries, cream, And citrusy hops. Sweet, moderate carbonation and body. Really enjoyable. Tastes a bit like good strawberry matcha. Better than orange dreamsicle.

This awesome ice cream vanilla flavor was there all along. Mixed with tangy, bitter hops and sweet strawberry juice. It didn’t taste like eating the fruit itself but it had a juice flavor comparable only to a fresh blended strawberry milkshake. It was weird too because the nose didn’t carry hardly anything over other than maybe just a bit off bitter citrus. This is a good one

1 PINT can
Served in a tulip glass
This beer pours yellow and turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of eggshell head that leaves scant lacing.
It smells wonderful. Strawberries and vanilla make a great combination for the senses.
Strawberry and vanilla flavor are at the forefront. I get some citrus on the back end to remind me that this is an IPA.
Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel
This is a pretty tasty milkshake IPA. I have really liked the couple from Southern Tier that I have tried so far.

On tap at Southern Tier Brewing in Lakewood, NY.
This one pours a pink-ish orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like cream, citrus, vanilla, strawberry, pine, and shortcake.
Southern Tier (maybe unsuprisingly) seems to be pretty good at making milkshake-style IPAs. There's not too much lactose here - it adds a creamy sweetness that doesn't get overwhelming. There's some nice creamy strawberry puree here, with a touch of vanilla, and a pithy and citrusy finish. I like that it does still taste like an IPA - a lot of milkshake IPAs just browbeat you with lactose and fruit and the IPA-ness is lost a bit.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, with a great drinkability to it.
This is better than you'd expect from this brewery.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy straw color with 2 fingers of sudsy off-white head. Modest retention at best, leaves some random splotches of lacing along the glass.
You ever have strawberry shortcake? That's exactly what this beer smells like. Maybe a hint of berries and citrus, but the strawberry shortcake aroma dominates. Straightforward, but definitely the aroma you look for in this kind of beer.
The flavor is a bit more complex, bringing flavors of strawberries, strawberry yogurt, vanilla cake, and a hint of strawberry milk. Then comes a wave of fruity hop flavors on the finish: Grapefruit, peach, blueberries and mango. Almost no bitterness whatsoever, which is exactly what you should expect from a beer like this.
The feel is not quite right. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very slick and oily.
Overall, I'd say this beer does exactly what it sets out to do. You buy this pink box that clearly days "Strawberry Dream" Milkshake IPA. There's even a picture of a literal milkshake on the box, in case you still weren't sure. It's sweet, but not overly so. While I'm not a huge fan of the style, I'd say this one is a very accurate representation.

Cloudy, light yellow in color, translucent, with a soapy bubbly head.
Smells exactly like strawberry shortcake.
Tastes upfront of tart strawberries, followed by shortbread-like, doughy oaty malt, then creamy vanilla, and some creamy sweetness. The hops come in on the finish with hints of candied orange zest, blueberry candy, pineapple, and lemongrass. Very subtle and does not detract from the main flavors of strawberry, vanilla, and dough. Rounds out on the finish, preventing it from becoming too sweet.
The mouthfeel is creamy and soft, moderately carbonated, silky smooth.
A fantastic milkshake IPA from Southern Tier, Strawberry shortcake in a glass. Well done, Southern Tier.

Southern Tier puts out weird beers, no question about it. Hell, the worst beer I've had in my life was their White Chocolate Raspberry Stout, but I've also had ones like Pumking that I absolutely loved. The last beer I had in the milkshake IPA sub-style was their Vanilla Whipp, and it was just mehh. I tend to avoid the style for the most part, but the addition of strawberries makes it sound like it just might work
Pours an extremely hazy pale yellow with 3 fingers of creamy white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
Right off the bat I'm actually really enjoying the aroma of this, it has a nice tart bite that I didn't expect. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy strawberry, underripe mango, clean lactic tartness, sweet vanilla, tart peach, floral hops, and light airy malt
Sadly, the taste does not match the nose, but it's still damn strong for a beer that I was iffy on in the first place. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting creamy vanilla, overripe strawberry, lightly grassy hops, orange, and doughy malt. The swallow bitters up a touch, bringing a wave of resiny hops followed up by sweet aftertastes of strawberry banana candy, general citrus, red grapefruit, and soft bready malt
A medium body pairs with very mild carbonation, resulting in a super frothy and creamy beer that's also incredibly easy drinking despite the sweetness. Finishes mostly dry with lingering sweet fruit
Hot damn, this one is a winner. Definitely better than a lot of their other more experimental beers, and definitely one that I'd pick up again

Served in a tulip glass from the can.
Appearance: pale yellow gold with medium bubbles to the body, white head rose roughly half a fingers length off the body.
Smell: Sweet citrus aroma which dissipates quickly from the nostrils.
Taste: Vanilla, marshmallow and light hops and a sugar cane feel to the brew. Barely bitter but still tastes like beer.
Mouth: Semi sticky body with a sweet finish. Malty nonetheless.
Overall: Good beer, i have had some other similar to it around my way and this one can compete with elite milkshake IPAs but don't expect it to win the fight but it can hold up a few rounds. Worth grabbing if you love you fruit infused IPAs. Salud!

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed medium golden pour. Big fluffy white head. Moderate ring of lacing.
S: Strawberry and vanilla. Almost but not quite fake... strawberry Quik. Strawberry candy.
T.F: Some lactose/sweets up front, but not nearly as sweet as expected. Fruity hops with a good bit of strawberry... sweet with a bit of tart. Vanilla... lighter citrus and mango. Minimal bitterness. Smooth and well carbonated. Medium bodied.
O: A strawberry/vanilla themed IPA. It avoids being 'too sweet'. Not the best milkshake IPA I've had (take a look at Tired Hands work) but overall solid. I don't regret getting a 4pack.

Appearance:
Hazy, pale yellow that closely resembles a frosty piña colada: It dons an ivory beret of bubbles that evanesce quicker than a shooting star. No trace of lace.
Bouquet:
An abundance of ripe strawberries, plopped into a heavenly cloud of whipped cream; the two float dreamily atop a shallow serving of pineapple juice. Although elusive, there’s also a sprinkling of soft, candied hops throughout. Vivacious and energizing.
Feel:
A medium-bodied mouthful of airy, whipped cream, held aloft by steady updrafts of carbonation.
Taste:
Malted vanilla milkshake with vibrant streaks of strawberry. The aftertaste is a long-savored sip of piña colada, rimmed with sugar-crystalized hops.

From the bottom of the can, in fat and slightly hard to read ink: "D.O.B. 02/15/21"
There is text below it but it's too difficult to read.
Appearance: The body of the beer is nearly opaque, allowing only the slightest hint of a shadow through the glass. The beer has a medium-sized white head that fades to a short frothy white cap. The bubbles are larger and spaced or separated apart. No real lacing.
Aroma: When the nose is away from the glass, it smells like strawberry Nesquik. Approaching the glass gives off a much stronger hop aroma which comes across as mango and a very strong gummy peach ring aroma. It actually smells sweet like a powdered sugar aroma. It is reminiscent of walking through the aisle at a large candy store where the gummy rings are and smelling that fruit aroma.
Taste: Up front there is a light mango-like fruity flavor, with a bit of pineapple and peach. Towards the center of the mouth there is more of that mango and peach with a bit of a grain husk and wheat flour flavor. It's an odd beer because it tastes a bit grain-like and then when you go for the next sip it swaps out to this more fruit-forward flavor. The aftertaste is lightly bitter grapefruit pith and pineapple skin right as the beer leaves the palate. While sitting for a bit after taking each sip, a strawberry Nesquik flavor creeps in out of nowhere and jumps onto the tongue.
Mouthfeel: It is pretty smooth drinking with just a hint of bitterness and a light touch of rough hop character. It's about average in drinkability. Carbonation feels good.
Overall: The can states that this is a "MILKSHAKE IPA" and that it contains "MALT: 2-Row Pale, Flaked Oats DRY-HOPPED WITH: Citra, Mossaic, Amarillo, Azacca HOT SIDE ADDITIONS: Milk Sugar COLD SIDE ADDITIONS: Strawberry, Vanilla." The strawberry character in this beer is definitely interesting as it smells just like strawberry Nesquik, and even tastes like it in the aftertaste. The beer mostly has fruity hop characters so it loses a lot of the strawberry flavor on the palate. As a whole the beer is enjoyable, especially if you are looking for fresh hops. At just under 2 weeks from the date on the bottom of the can, it tastes great so I can recommend it based on that time reference. It doesn't have enough strawberry to merit a recommendation to those looking for just strawberry flavor, but it makes its presence known enough that I'd recommend it to a hop lover who happens to also like strawberry.
