Purchased at Acme in Horsham, PA. $15.99/4pk 9.6oz cans
After an aggressive popping noise from the nitro charge, pours a jet black with a creamy, long lasting head.
The smell is amazing. Smells like an Mounds candy bar with a huge coconut and chocolate aroma.
Absolutely delicious! The taste follows the nose with a rich, creamy chocolate coconut taste that coats the mouth in pure sweetness. A slightly bitter aftertaste that gives a bite after each sip. The 10% ABV is well hidden. A true, sipping dessert-type beer.
Even with the nitro charge, the carbonation is on the low side. Medium to a higher consistency, very rich.
Overall, an excellent addition to the Blackwater Series. The nitro charge adds such a delicious creaminess to the beer. Be nice to see other breweries embrace the nitro charge into their lineups. Truly enjoyed and highly recommended…Cheers!

Black in color with just a suggestion of light seeping through when held up to the light. There’s three quarter inch of dense creamy beige nitro foam on top. Heavy, soapy lacing is present. The aroma is of dark chocolate, sea salt, and coconut. I’m tasting dark chocolate, coconut, and sea salt. The mouth is decadently smooth and bone dry.

Served in a tent glass from the can.
Appearance: Semi thin semi thin body with a ultra thick tan head rising with an original rise of two finger's length off the body.
Smell: Coconut aroma which is crazy strong from the beginning. Slight burnt chocolate but no complaints.
Taste: Sweet chocolate with heavy coconut. Seriously lusting this beer like a kid salivating a chocolate ice cream popsicle.
Mouth: Super soft carbonation with an obvious light bubble texture to the brew.
Overall: Great brew, not what I would normally buy but I just love coconut especially when it's done right. Salud!

12 oz can with a 24 Match 2022 BB date stamped on the bottom. ($3.59 from the Wall of Beer in Clemson SC).
Appearance. Near black body with a fine beige head that takes a while to rise and much longer to recede.
This is sweet but appropriately so for a "coconut truffle" milk stout.
The body is exceptionally smooth but perhaps a touch too thin.
The aroma is the weak spot.

Very dark brown, almost black, with some slight ruby highlights and a very nice creamy tan head that retains well and produces some nice lacing.
The aroma is coconut and dark chocolate with some notes of cream and vanilla.
The taste is coconut and dark chocolate with a bit of bite at the finish but creamy sweet at the same time.
The body is medium but with a thick creamy texture that makes it dangerously easy to drink. Altogether this is an outstanding creamy stout for the chocolate and coconut lovers.

Another great ST nitro brew...
...this is the a great dessert beer. Beautiful head, a decent, sweet smell with a creamy mouthfeel. The taste is both full of roast and malty sweetness. I am always impressed with ST and their nitro line - another great offereing.

Dark brown, almost-black , with 1.5 fingers of extremely fine tan head.
Smell is toasted coconut, cocoa, and slight chocolate cake batter.
Taste is coconut, chocolate liqueur, but less sweet, and the barest hint of salt , near finish. Slight bitter aftertaste.
Feel is smooth and creamy, with brief, light carbonation bite near finish.
Overall, pleasant and dangerously easy-drinking. Not one I'd want frequently, but really good when the mood strikes.

From the nitro can, it pours a very dark color with a nice thick nitrogenated tan head that lasts. Definite scent of coconuts and chocolate truffle. Smooth, silky feel in the mouth. Huge coconut truffle taste in the mouth - overpowering.

Appearance - The beer poured a dark black color with a white head crowning the glass.
Smell - Holy cow! There was loads of coconut in the nose.
Taste - at the beginning, the coconut was very evident. It seemed like toasted coconut more than sweet coconut. Next, the dark chocolate of the truffle came. It became slightly bitter toward the back. The nitro bubbles helped to create an extra smooth taste.
Mouthfeel - The nitro bubbles made this so smooth. It was like silk.
Overall - Particularly for Southern Tier, this was amazing.

9.6oz nitro can poured into a tulip
A- pours jet black with a two-finger thick and creamy khaki colored head that has fantastic retention and leaves some lacing behind as it goes down
S- huge coconut and chocolate aromas jump from the glass, it smells just like a Mounds bar. Undertones of salted caramel, almonds, marshmallow and vanilla
T- as with the aroma, coconut immediately takes center stage, quickly followed by notes of milk chocolate. Mid-palate gives a bit of a salty note, with undertones of caramel candy, vanilla and marshmallow cream. The finish gives more coconut and chocolate, as the coconut lingers long after the finish
M- medium body with a thick and creamy mouthfeel that continues into a silky and velvety, slightly warming finish
O- the ST Nitro Blackwater series has become some of my favorite beers the past couple of years, keep 'em coming!

Pours a hazel tinged chestnut with a finger of tight tan head. fantastic head retention & good lacing
S: Plenty of toasty coconut, a little chocolate
T: Follows the nose, some vanilla, marshmallow & chocolate& a little dryness up front. Dryness picks up as this warms (roasytness & toasty coconut ), marshmallow & lust little coffee as this warms, just a little coffee cream as well . Finishes with much sweetness, mostly marshmallow & a little toasted coconut dryness, plus a little coffee
MF: Creamy carbonation, medium body
Totally works for me a lot of Southern Tier Blackwater beers are in my sweet tooth wheelhouse & this is another shining example; great drinkability as well

Pours opaque, jet black in color with one half inch frothy head. Taste is big coconut, toasted shards and all, chocolate syrup, white sugar. Heavy body, sweet but not cloying with medium low carbonation. Still the dessert kings. Liquid Mounds bar. Delicious. It always amazes me how these guys can consistently make sweet beer but never approach cloying like others do. Very well balanced and goes down way too easy.

I had been saving this can for a little while. No big deal, right, but it turns out it is a big deal, OK?
It is a big foamy thing that explodes into 9 oz of beautiful smelling 10% stout. The highlight is the look and especially smell. Chocolate, burnt coffee, slightly boozy. The coconut is more pronounced in the taste, where it dominates and blends with a malty sweetness.
Highly recommended. Worth buying for the aroma alone.
