Notes: This beer may have a cheeky name, but don’t be fooled; it is modeled after fine European pilsners to be light and crisp. Aromatic Noble hop varieties, 2-row malted barley and European style pilsner malt contribute to this pale beer’s smooth character.

So I picked up a bottle of this when I was in the Midwest in 2014 for the reunion. NY beer in Wisconsin, ok, not distro'd here, 'so whatcha gonna do' about i' to quote Mick Jagger and Hulk Hogan.

Yellow in color with a degree of clarity lacking for being a pilsner. 1/3" white head. Aroma went with grass up front with a hint of lemon and grapefruit rind. Interesting. Well carbonated, light mouthfeel, only a little bit of Euro yeast lager feels on this one. Moar skunk plz. Keeps dropping some grassy, floral hop bitter notes. Its a good beer, but it isn't up there with some of my faves like Urquell, SN gothic pils, OB lil yella pils etc. . . I'd check it out again if the price was right, difficult to tell when you buy a rando single what a 6 pack price is. Good summer lawnmower beer.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pilsener. Why? Well, its a pilsener by style, why would it be in any other glass. The appearance was a slight hazy yet tried to have a slight transparent yellow color. Light carbonation was seen rising to fill a two finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. The smell was somewhat grassy/yet grainy with a light sweet malts. The taste was basically the same and it left a quick dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and came across fairly sessionable. The carbonation finished smooth and crisp and felt exactly like a pilsener should be. Overall, good job Southern Tier, I’d have this again.

L: An energetic brilliant straw colored pour crowned by a ½” quickly dissipating white foam collar. S: Very clean aromas of light grains. T: Traces of sweet caramel in the background and light malts. F: Light and effervescent. O: This is light, crisp and clean but not boring.

A: Pours a clean, clear, golden color with a fair bubbly white head. Retention is average for style and looks good all around.
S: Smell of dry, husky grains and light but noticeable spicy hops. clean smell not real big bouquet.
T: Light, dry pilsen malt and husky grain flavors are pleasant. Not sweet not bitter, just right.
Hops provide some bitterness and light spicy, herbal notes. Clean, dry finish is easy on the palate.
M: Crisp carbonation, light body and a very clean, dry finish.
O: I find this style refreshing and a good one to revisit from time to time. Good representation here and I would try it again. Nothing to scream about but just a solid, well made beer!

12 ounce dateless but brightly labeled bottle poured into a stange-like Pilsner Urquell glass. Bright, bubbly straw colored body with a half finger of foamy, white head. The head is small, but has good retention and leaves behind steady and consistent layers of thin lacing. A thin cap stays on the beer all the way down.

Light bready and grainy malts with some Noble hops. Very floral and slightly spicy aroma. Just the lightest hint of buttery yeast.

The flavor is of cracked grains with a very subtle hint of honey. Floral hops with a dry spicy, earthy finish.

Well carbonated and just a touch of diacetyl adds a bit of body, without becoming distracting. Very crisp, refreshing mouthfeel.

Overall, this is a pleasant, refreshing beer. Even for a Czech pils, the flavor is still a bit thin. In particular, I expect a bit more malt complexity, which this is lacking. Still, it is very drinkable.

12oz bottle poured into a 16 ounce pint glass.

Looks pretty light, almost like Miller Lite. Lots of bubbles, very thin head that stays for a while. Looks refreshing on a hot day.

Smell - Like Miller Lite. Reminded me of my College years.

Taste - Better than Miller Lite, no doubt. Malty, mild hops, bread.... I really don't taste anything else...

Nice body, carbonation is good for a hot summer day.

Overall: Won't get this again. Just not that good. I'd choose it over Miller/Bud/etc. But not over any other Southern Tier products.

12 fl oz brown bottle poured in a pilsner glass. Purchased on my trip to New Orleans in March. DOB 01/06/2014.

Straw yellow and clear. White head is about 1/4 inch on the pour but recedes to a thin ring around the edge. Little spots of lacing here and there.

Aroma is grainy with a little bit of herbal/floral hops.

Pretty plain. Tastes about like an american lager with a little bit of hop kick. Cereal graininess followed by some herbal hops.

Not bad. A little weak for my liking, but would certainly be refreshing on a hot day.

12 oz bottle in a pint glass.

Appearance: Pale golden. Certainly looks like a Pilsner Urquell.

Aroma: Fairly strong, noble hops and lager-yeast.

Taste: Very crisp but full-flavored. Taste is hop-forward with little to no sulfur characteristics.

Mouthfeel: Light and bright. Fairly high carbonation. Pretty much what one wants.

Overall: A solid German pilsner from and American brewer.

A: Pours a clear, pale yellow with a thin white head that dissipates very quickly.

S: Aromas of grain, minerals, rosewater, herbs, grass, honey, and lemon are present on the nose.

T: Notes of minerals, lemon, herbs, grass, grain, honey, and rosewater wash across the palate. The finish is clipped with lemon, herb, grass, and mineral notes.

M: Medium-to-full in body, waxy, and a bit stickier than expected. Carbonation is very prickly. As beers of this type go, this is far from easy to drink. Unexpectedly filling and bloating for the style.

O: This beer has done little to convince me that American craft brewers handle European lagers well. Compared to many of the Czech classics, this lager is sorely lacking. Everything about it is just a little off. Although it is not bad really, the aromas and flavors displayed by this beer are too simple and too straight-forward and the carbonation is far too forceful. There is not a lot of depth, complexity, or subtlety here and the whole package is a bit too unrefined for my liking. Again, it is not really that bad, but it does seem a bit dumbed down compared to the beers it tries to emulate.

Light golden straw color. Sudsy head with blanketed surface and decent lace.

Crispy golden lager malts with a slight yeast presence. Sweeter grassiness with thin Euro hop mossy aromas. Pale nose with that pilsner identity keeping it classy.

Half Czech Pils, half pale Euro lager. Hard to trace grassiness, sweet maltiness, dry finish with only mild bitterness. A little watery, needs spunkiness. Hops are muted in the middle, but come with minty pine linger in the tailend. Easy to manage in the beginning with a wet and thinned-out body, but finishes with some crackle and pop. Carbonation is a bit lower than standard fare.

Hardly anything extraordinary. A mundane pils that slights the style a bit. Drinks fine, but it's passable. 3.5

Southern Tier Eurotrash Pilz has a medium head, a somewhat hazy, slightly bubbly, yellow-gold appearance, and some thin, splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, cracker, with some grassy hops. Taste is the same. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Southern Tier Eurotrash Pilz finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and dry. Overall, this is nice. I like it.

12oz single poured into a pilsner flute.

A-as pilsner should. pale straw color. 1-2 fingers of fluffy white head. a ton of bubbles that don't recede. looks very refreshing!

S-grassy hops. biscuit notes. some grainy malts.

T-some citrus. mild hop bitterness. bready malt.

M-light bodied. good carbonation. crisp and smooth.

O-would be a great summer beer. perfect for grilling and mowing the lawn. several could go down easily. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but liked this more than I expected. and lets be honest the name is pretty cool!

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with no apparent bottling or expiration date. Sampled on April 2, 2014.

It looks exactly like a pilsner should with its pale yellow, well carbonated color building up to a huge white head. So I can't give it a bad mark for how it looks as far as the style goes.

I can mark it down in the aroma category which comes across as grassy and somewhat skunked, even though it did not come from a green bottle. But all I could think of was green-bottle skunkiness when I took my first whiff. A touch of toasted biscuit malt.

The body is light and refreshing.

The taste has a bit of the toasted biscuit malt character with a clean, crisp hop finale. The taste is a slight improvement over the nose but it is generally pretty average. Oh well, today got up to 55 degrees so it hit the spot.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pale straw yellow color with a big head and lacing down the glass that surprised me a little.

Nose was pretty faint, but was a little skunky. I didn't expect this in a brown bottle that was kept from the sun. Not sure if I should blame the vendor or the beer.

Mouth was fairly bland. Thin and drinkable, a good summer beer if we can ditch the skunk. Better than most light beers.

T- crisp toasted-yet-sweet pilsner malt with underlying tones of grass and floral hop. Dy finish with a toasted linger

M- light body with medium carbonation, foamy mouthfeel, crisp finish

O- Easy drinking pils, nothing special but nothing offensive

This is a very light beer.
Southern Tier should release this beer for the summer.
It reminds me of Budweiser with a hop bite to it.
Crisp, clean and refreshing. A slight malt back bone with a mild bitter finish.

I like it.
Just think this would be a better beer for summer time drinking.

Pours nice and clear like a pilsner should. Nice thin white head that left minimum lacing, but smell was a little lacking, though still very solid.

Hits the palate very nice, and tastes great with a good aftertaste. Overall I enjoyed, wish the weather was warmer and I'm sure I'd enjoy it even more!

Solid golden color with a thin head with low retention.
Aroma of grassy hops and bready malt. Just a hint of lemon.
Sweet flavor of malt with herbal and floral hops, green apples at finish. Fast dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with medium carbonation.
This beer is all right, no thrills as one would normally expect for the style and Eurotrash is no exception.

12 oz bottle poured into SA perfect pint glass.

A - Light straw-yellow with some haze. A good amount of carbonation to it. A 1.5" head formed, which stuck around for a while. Small pieces of lacing stuck to glass.

S - A hint of smooth earthy hops, cut grass, dankness. Not a bad smelling lager, just kind of weak.

T - The aforementioned aromas were present, as was a faint lemon taste. Tasted good and crisp, but aftertaste was kind of sour and bitter, not in a good way. Also detected some hints of white bread/yeast and spicy hops. Taste itself wasn't bad, but the aftertaste lowers my rating.

F - Very crisp and clean. A refreshing beer with a good amount of carbonation, which I like. Would be a very nice summer beer.

O - Not a bad pilsener, sans the aftertaste. The taste isn't bad at all, but the aftertaste isn't pleseant. Overall not a bad beer, just kind of bland. I know it's a lager, but they can still be full of flavor, this one isn't. I'd drink again, but wouldn't buy again.

This pilsner glass contains a straw-gold (SRM 3-5) beer while a thin, rocky, white head quickly dismisses itself. Occasional large bubbles rise within this clear beer while a webbing of lace clings to the top.

The aroma is grassy with malt and a strong mustiness while light lemon rind lingers in the background.

The flavor is rather grainy with malt and white bread, while modest bitterness is followed by a soft, lingering finish that never quite ends.

Clean and crisp, with a medium body and soft texture accompanied by modest carbonation.

This is an easy, relaxing, lawnmower beer, but not very exciting.

Pours an effervescent honey color with one finger of pearl colored head. Not much head retention or lacing

S: Breadyness, grassiness & pears, plus perfumey notes

T: Grassyness, pears, floral hops up front, crackery notes plus dryness. More pear, mown hay, a touch of melon sweetness, more crackery notes & some lemon once warm. Finishes dry, crisp, grassy with a bit more pear

MF: Light/medium bodied, soft carbonation, pretty good balance

Drinks easy a decent stab at the style. I actually thought this was better ice cold, but reviewing at proper serving temperature
