Might have had this one in the cellar for a while so take this with the grain of salt.
The pour is stout black with a very, very thin light brown head.
The taste is undeniably hazelnut forward, with stout playing the host. Almost Nutella like with the chocolate aspect of the stout, no hops and no hard edges at all. Curiously unsweet, but very tasty.
The feel is not particularly viscous but not thin either. Excellent quaff ability.
OA, excellent if you’re a fan of Nutella, if not, you might want to give this one a pass.

In a world where we want our water black, Southern Tier makes their dark waters even more murky with hazelnut and chocolate. It turns out that we want our water like nutella.
Very dark brown and pouring like hershey syrup, Hazelnut Delux builds barely a head while enticing the senses with the sultry scent of chocolate, hazelnut, caramel, vanilla and coffee. In similar fashion, its taste doubles down on malt sweetenss with an even slather of caramel, molasses, cream and chocolate.
A long and chocolatey draw extends deep onto the middle palate where the elements of hazelnut and coffee come into play. Trending moderately bitter, the roasted taste of coffee becomes more prevalent. A slim sense of dryness helps with drinkability but detracts from the pastry-like effects that the session wants.
Full bodied, rounded and smooth, the stout finishes with a warming hazelnut liquor vibe with a spicy bitter component to give this black water a little attitude.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours black in color with a one finger foamy off white head that reduces to a thin film
S- smell me of fresh roasted hazelnuts, with undertones of chocolate, caramel, coffee and peanut butter
T- sweet chocolate up front immediately followed by a wave of hazelnut at the mid-palate. Caramel and chocolate icing, followed by more hazelnut on the linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a slightly warming finish

L - Deep pitch black with a small tan head that dissipates quickly leaving behind no real head to speak of
S - chocolate fudge and hazelnuts as well as some caramel
T - hazelnut Nutella up front and throughout intermixed well with fudgey chocolate with some roasted/toasted oats and dark malt
F - medium, leaning to full bodied with light to moderate carbonation
O - simple, but another delicious dessert stout from southern tier

BB date 02/28/24. Let sit out for 10 minutes before opening.
Very dark brown, with quickly-dissipating light tan head.
Smell is cola, nuts, and slight cocoa powder.
Taste is cocoa, toasted nuts, and chocolate liqueur .
Feel is smooth, lightly-slick, but not-quite syrupy, finishing with light , semi-soft, slightly drying carbonation tingle. Surprisingly light feel for what it is.
Overall , a decent dessert beer. Dangerously easy-drinking. Not anywhere near on par with Frangelic Mountain Brown, or KBS Hazelnut, but still, it's an enjoyable beer.

Solid dark brown appearance with a large but short lived tan head and a fair amount of lacing. Earthy, nutty aroma along with notes of dark chocolate. Chocolate comes on stronger on the taste buds while still maintaining a firm grip on the hazelnuts, especially in the finish. Softly carbonated, full bodied mouthfeel. Pairing up well with tonights roast beef dinner.

Now me, I've never had hazelnut. But I smell definite nut, and strong. That and sweet, maybe semisweet chocolate. Thick but not sticky feel, taste is aroma +. A little boozy, not bad.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is dark brown, light tan head presents but dissipates quickly to nothing, no lacing.
Smell is hazelnut and peanut butter powder, light roast, light caramel, some booziness.
Taste is big hazelnut and peanut butter flavor, some roast, caramel, nutty malt, booziness.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, big lingering biting dryness.
Overall a mediocre flavored stout, maybe over done on the addition and could go for more roast/malt to counter.

Was a bit surprised by the quality of this imperial style beer . If you like imperials, this is quite good. Not supercharged alcohol, but great taste. I recommend. especially if having more than one!
