Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is big raspberry preserves, and wheat. Light bodied, moderate low carbonation, sweet. If this was still in the dark ages of craft when I discovered it and Sea Dog was huge, this would be amazing. That said, it is still good but way less mind blowing. True to style but nothing I need more than one of.

Notes via stream of consciousness: So this is a summer wheat ale? I'm assuming it's made with flavorings? Yes, it's an "ALE WITH NATURAL FLAVORS". It's a limited release and clocks in at 5% ABV. The body is a clear deep golden color and the head is a thumb's width thick cap of white foam. It looks good and the head seems to be holding fairly well. The aroma is mainly of artificial raspberry but if you swirl the glass you'll get some malt out of it. On to the taste then... it's more tart than I thought it would be, but also sweet. That works i guess if you like that raspberry candy kind of thing that the flavoring gives you. The malt is clearly wheaty, which is nice. There's also a floral, perfume-like, and spicy thing going on. I'm pretty sure that i know what that is, it's from the Amoretti flavoring that they've used. There's also a touch of orange that comes out in the finish which is nice. It's not bitter, definitely less than 20 IBUs, and yet there's a kind of medicinal harshness to it. I'll assume that that's coming from the flavoring as well, and the more of it I drink the more it seems to stick around. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp, pretty standard all around. I'm not a fan of this but I can see how some people will love it.

On tap at 4001 Yancey. Smell is faint raspberries and malts. Flavor is the perfect amount of raspberry for this type of beer. This would definitely be a summer crusher.

Look: Pours a beautiful golden color with a thick head that fades fast. Looks crisp and clear.
Smell: Very fruity wheat aroma. Raspberry, as expected, but also strong hints of apple and grape.
Taste: Disappointingly lacking in fruit on the initial taste, especially given the strong fruit aroma. Much more bitter than I’d like in an American wheat ale, but I probably shouldn’t be surprised given this is from a brewery that seems to be in love with generic hops bitterness. Leaves an artificial, syrupy raspberry taste that is quite surprising given the lack of fruit at first.
Feel: disappointingly watery, disappears as soon as it’s swallowed.
Overall: it’s fine but not something I’ll seek out again.

Somewhat forgettable Raspberry ale not too tart but it does taste of faint raspberries. Don't expect them too tart if anything the pale malts and grains do their best to balance what fruit flavors are there. It was fine but made me think I should have Just got the raspberry from Founders Instead
