The pour is jet black colored with a tan & frothy head of foam. The taste is sweet roasted malt, pumpkin, maple syrup, cinnamon, along with some hints of clove, & nutmeg. In addition to, the 8.6% abv is well hidden. Overall, I think is better than there regular flavored Warlock stout. Cheers! A-

Very Dark with virtually no head. Nice aroma: pumpkin spice & maple. Mildly sweet. Flavors: lots of maple, pumpkin, pumpkin spice & a hint of some bitter hops. Feel: a bit thin, low carbonation. Overall: who poured maple syrup on my pumpkin pie?

Was very surprised by the carbonation on this one. Well over 2 in plus that froth over the pint glass. Beer itself beautiful dark pitch black Just like the cold late nights of Pittsburgh. I could smell it from here so mapley so sweet. Kind of gets lost the spices, nutmeg and cinnamon. In fact, it almost covers up the base beer with the roasty and the chocolate hopefully it's more balanced in The taste. Well the spices are definitely there coming in a bit watery so I was a bit surprised. Strongest being the nutmeg really clings to the pallet mild sprinkling of Maple barrel and just a touch of bittering roast. Shockingly, it's not very sweet like I expected more pure maple syrup but I got more of the maple flower maybe it's the base beer lots of hops. Body is pretty excellent goes down smooth enough I could see myself having a couple of these no problem as I write I'm about a halfway through the glass. Overall, I can dig it. The addition of the maple really has made the base beer a little more tolerable with the bitterness and the roasts yet it's still there. Medley of flavors Quite a treat!

Maple Warlock from Southern Tier Brewing. Four-pack of 12 fl oz bottles from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Stored on room temperature shelf at distributor. Purchased 26/12/25. $ 13.00 (including tax) ($ 0.271/fl oz). Reviewed 27/12/25, review 3663. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on label “BESTBY 07/02/27”. Stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 50.1 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 56.4 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.25
First pour – Deep Amber (SRM 15), clear.
Body – Ruby brown (SRM 24), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, ruby and clear in the direct path of the light, otherwise opaque.
Head – Average (Maximum 2.0 cm, aggressive center pour) Cream, high density with average retention, ending with a 0.8 cm crown and a rocky cap.
Lacing – Fair. Temporary low, rolling foothills of near-microscopic bubbles remain above the crown as the level drops, some areas have multiple skinny connecting columns.
Aroma – 4.5 – Maple, maple, maple, no hops, no malt, no alcohol (8.6 % ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 4 – Initially sweet maple with weak caramel, and a little pumpkin. No hops, no dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Well attenuated alcohol - moderate gastric warming, not unpleasant. Ends slightly bitter.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Somewhat syrupy, almost sticky: Lively carbonation. Slightly sticky.
Style: Sort of follows the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 4.25 Uncredited label art. Fortunately, the “pumpkin spice” aspect is minimal, allowing both the pumpkin and the maple syrup to shine. Very good iteration of (IMHO) the best pumpkin beer out there. Reminds me a bit of their Barrel Work Series: Sapsquash.

Rich dark pour with a very nice tall head. I'm not big on pumpkin beers. If I saw that on the label I would have passed on this one. That being said, it is drinkable. I Just don't want any more.

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery snifter
A: Pours dark brown with a slight mahogany tinge and a frothy beige head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Big time maple, followed by lively baking spice, roasty slightly toasty malt, a little earthy char, molasses, vanilla, toffee, and a touch of burnt sugar.
T: Maple comes right out up front, but is quickly followed by big time pumpkin pie spice, all spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and ginger, roasty malt, a touch of earthy char, hints of graham cracker, molasses, vanilla, toffee, and a little burnt sugar sweetness, plus hints of actual pumpkin on the finish.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly sticky.
O: I'm kind of a sucker for maple so of course I had to try this one. The maple infusion is unmistakable, but thanks to everything else going on in there, it's held in check before it has a chance to become cloying. The way it all comes together reminds me of heavily spiced pumpkin spice pancakes drenched in syrup, in a good way. It's a worthy sibling to the original with everything from the base beer still showing up, just with a new dimension added. That being said, as a fan of the original, I think dialing the maple back just a little so it meshes in rather than stands out would have worked even better, but it still makes for a nice sipper either alongside breakfast or as a liquid dessert. If they keep experimenting with adjunct additions, I'd love to see a coffee and/or chocolate version.

Incredibly delicious scent in the nose followed by a taste that hides the booze quite well behind the maple and pumpkin flavors. Oh, don't worry, you get to feel the booze after a bit, but outside the warmth you can't really tell. Another great pumpkin brew offering from ST...

The first bottle I had from the pack was initially slightly disappointing, but after that, it grew on me. Not bad, a fun treat for the deep autumn season :) It won't be underwhelming as long as you expect it to live up to its namesake; the maple note is the star here

Appearance: Pours a deep, dark brown. Medium-sized beige head.
Aroma: Bold, with dominant notes of maple syrup, warm pumpkin spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove), and a touch of roasted malt.
Taste: Led by maple syrup sweetness that’s layered with seasonal spice. Roasted malt adds a subtle bitterness that helps to balance the sweetness.
Mouthfeel & Finish: Medium-bodied with a smooth texture. The finish is sweet and gently warming.
Overall Impression: A seasonal brew that leans heavily into maple and spice. Balanced enough to remain enjoyable.

L - Black with a tan head that dissipates quickly, leaving a thin cap
S - maple, fall spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, some ginger as well, along with dark roasted malts, slight chocolate
T - follows the nose - maple up front, followed closely by pumpkin pie spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, fiber, with dark roasted malts, finishing with maple
F - medium, leaning on full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet.
O - a solid change up for warlock, though a touch sweet.

Appearance: Dark brown, good head.
Smell: Pumpkin-y, spices, smells like the candle store in fall.
Taste: Moderate sweetness, then it's a mix of mild chocolate and pumpkin spices. Medium-heavy body. Long finish, plenty of the pumpkin spice flavor remains.
Overall: Picked up a single to try, I'm not a pumpkin beer guy but I'll give them a fair shot. This is definitely interesting, has the pumpkin spice flavors but the maple and chocolate give additional depth. Worth a try.
