Apple Crumble Brown Ale is out of this world! Notes of Apple and cinnamon fold together with warm hints of vanilla and brown butter on a nutty brown ale base. So good, everyone in the galaxy wants a taste.

Good beer, I rarely have desert beers with dinner, but the choice was this or 3 high octane beers that I didn't want to deal with this evening. I wouldn't recommend it with most dinners, but the quality shines through. This is a very good beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a medium brown, dense body with some light coming through when held to a light. The off-white/cream colored head is foamy and medium sized with good retention. There are many wide bands of lacing on the glass. The can fully describes the flavor: apple. cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar added to a somewhat sweet, bready malty base. The flavors really stand out, and the beer itself is not overly sweet or cloying. Very tasty. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth, with no artificial aftertaste or alcohol presence. Well done!!!

Poured chilled from a can into to a 16oz pint glass.
Appearance is amber brown, slight cloudiness, and a 2-finger slightly off-white head that recedes slowwwwlyy and clings to the glass with decent lacing.
Aroma is apple, brown sugar, roasted malt.
Taste follows the nose with apple, roasted malt, brown sugar, cinnamon, biscuit/bread, vanilla. Initial impression....apple pie in liquid form.
Mouthfeel is medium-full. Creamy finish. Leans sweet but there are some balancing hops trying to work their way thru on the finish.
Overall, this actually isnt as bad as I was expecting based on some of the other reviews. It is what it is....a novelty dessert type beer. But there is some balance to it. A bit of a funky aftertaste that lingers. Pretty sure Southern Tier uses alot of artificial flavors, maybe im wrong. But alot of their novelty dessert brews in particular always have a funky aftertaste that doesn't sit well. Beer would be much much better without the added adjunct and such.

Best by Jan 01 2026. Poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Medium brown hue with 1-finger light beige head with decent retention and respectable lacing.
S: The apple pie spice is on target with some medium caramel.
T: The flavor is not as on target as the aroma but pleasant and tastes more like a spiced brown ale than apple pie. Caramel and cinnamon and nutmeg. Not enough of the malty crust impression.
M: Medium body with low carbonation and medium finish.
O: ST Apple Crumble Brown Ale is a nice beer that nails the aroma but needs a little more malty crust character to hit it out of the park.
