random etre gourmet pickup for me, wild beer with wine grapes from poland, had to say yes to that when i saw it. the packaging is awesome, artsy and in clear glass, i had no idea beer like this was happening there, and i was pumped to crack this open during our epic grape beer night! slightly muted deep pink color to this, a fast rising and falling fizziness, but the beer stays bubbly in the glass, a little cloudy but still light enough looking, moderate color saturation. the nose is funky, almost a cherry soda vibe, natural wine character for sure, slate and earth, red raspberry and red currant fruitiness with the grapes, and a mixed fermentation type profile where some citrusy pucker is there with more rustic funkiness, not overly mature but it seems dry for being so fruity and quite complex, albeit subtly, mouthwatering. the flavor is grape driven in front of the ferment which is not always the case with these, lots of wine elements including the tangy skins, the tannins, and a light sulfur thing as well, drying and tangy, more raspberry too, a light red cherry note, and more and more bretty character as it warms up a little. i love how dry and tart this is, how fruit forward it is at the same time, how it seems less woody than a lot of these, the fruit shines on its own and the varietals are new to me, and how unique it is, even though its in a very familiar space to me, it has its own personality and would be easy to pick out of a crowd. this is my first beer from these guys, but it sure wont be my last, really great first impression, really evolved and tasty, exceptional overall!

A 375ml clear bottle, with a best before date of 10th May 2024. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.

Appearance: A hazy cherry red colour with a two finger pinkish head that dissipated quickly while leaving only sparse lacing.

Aroma: Funky, grape skin, vinous, cherry, with light oak notes.

Taste: Lightly sour, funky, grape skin, natural red wine, vinous, cherry, red fruits.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high carbonation.

Overall: Nice funk with enjoyable grape skin and vinous notes.
