Very slightly hazy green-gold color. Poured a short head that collapsed to a patchy skiff in a few seconds. Left a line of lace.
Light pale roasted malt with a moderate herbal hop smell. A light yeast smell lies under the rest. Faint wood smell as it warms up a bit. Swirling the glass kicked up a light barnyard for a few seconds.
Starts off very clean (probably too cold) but quickly picks up a soft malt followed by a herbal flavor. Gets quite bitter (for a Pilsner) as it warms up; this is getting close to the high end of the Pilsner IBU range. Very mild yeast flavor. The aftertaste starts with more bitters and light herbs. The bitters calm down after a bit leaving a memory of the malt and yeast behind.
Tongue tingling that becomes sharp after a bit. Light foaming with a touch of astringency. There is a mild spicy heat after it warms up a bit.
Smell fairly typical of a European Pilsner; much richer than North American Pilsners. The bitters are heading into Pale Ale or mild IPA territory. This has a flavor that is a bit stronger than a typical European Pilsner, with more malt to go along with the hops. Nobody would confuse this with a mass volume brewery Pilsner.

A- This pours a super pale yellow/golden coloration and is somewhat chill hazed. The head is super thick, being two to three fingers thick and retains rather well....it looks like a whipped meringue like concoction and is reasonably dense. The carbonation seems to be somewhat lumbering and doesn't appear as aggressive as I would have first thought. As for lacing, well it is rather impressive, with a large clumpy medley of foam sticking to the inside of the glass. Overall a very nice, yet a little light in color for the style
S- I don't get the spicy nature of this, as per previous reviews, however, I do detect some tangy hop notes, light to medium malt sweetness, and maybe some dry herbal notes. It is a weaker version of a Pils on my nostrils than I would have liked, and I do wish it had some of the spice that I am accustomed to
T- Its not in your face, with some very mild spice, medium malt sweetness, and muted hop bitterness, which does linger slightly on the palate and becomes slightly bitter on the sides of the tongue. Again, I find this to be a weak version of the style and outside of the slight bitterness I experience, I don't find this to be very intriguing on the palate. Clean and crisp it is and just a little boring flavor wise.
M/O- Medium/light bodied on the palate so I will give it that and the carbonation is actually more zingy than it appeared at first so again this is a plus! It is drinkable and quenching, but I just think overall that there are much better interpretations out there. Would I drink it again, why yes I would, but I sure wouldn't seek it out on purpose either. Just a slightly souped up macro if you ask me.
