The colour is brown with a tint of red (50 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger pale brown head is compact. It sinks slowly leaving lots of thick lacing.
The smell is roasted and nutty. Some bitter notes and a touch of butter. Some vegetables and a slight sourish hint in the background.
The taste is mild with a nice flowery hop bitterness. The creamy sweetness is nutty and quite roasted. Smooth and clean flavours. The aftertaste brings some grainy/bready notes, hints of red berries and some hazelnuts. The finish adds some boiled vegetables.
The carbonation is medium strong, the medium sized bubbles smooth on the tongue. The liquid is a bit dry.
One of the best brews I have had from Åbro. I am positively surprised.
