Introduced as "Weisgickl Pils" (after the brew master), the name was chanded due to the problems Swedes had when ordering the beer.

‘Aufsturz’ in Berlin has a very large bottle menu, this caught my eye while in there (Jan 2012) as I perused the said menu: 33 cl bottle poured by myself into the correct glass.
It’s a boring lager, OK, a boring Pilsner. If this was really named after the head brewer because he brewed it to his own taste, I'd hate to try the beers he thought were worse!
I don’t know what I expected, something a bit more original and exciting perhaps: what I got was your regular golden clear bodied Pilsner with its white head that soon dissipates to a wispy covering. No smell and very little flavour in the mouth.
The mouth is treated to a mildly sweet liquid that may well have had some malts and hops shown to it during its making, as the mouth dries the taste turns slightly metallic and somewhat bitterer. Having this in mid-winter might have been a mistake, but even during a hot summer this wouldn’t trouble anybodies taste buds: a beer to take after hard labour to slate your thirst before having a proper drink when you are cooler.

The beer is clear straw colored, has a small white head that leaves a little lacing.
The smell is malty, bread, hay and grass, green apples.
The taste starts with sweet white bread, lemon, a good bitterness, zest and nettles.
Medium carbonation, soft and fresh, medium body, a dry good finish.
One of Åbro's better beers, decently hopped, and not overly sweet.

A: Slightly foggy yellow. Almost no head or carbonation.
S: Sweet malt, sour and lemony. Peculiar and interesting. Almost amber.
T: A bit bitter and sour, yet fresh, light malt.
M: Slightly astringent. very mild carbonation.
D: Nice beer, and a different kind of pilsner. One of the more interesting one's I've had.

Looks nice and pretty, pouring golden with an off-white head. Flavor is smooth and slightly grainy when it's cold and as it warms it grows more earthy and inky a bit which makes it a bit harder to get down. Still, it's good enough, though I think the bottle size could stand to be smaller considering it gets a bit rougher when the beer is getting warmer and warmer. Or maybe I should just drink faster.

The colour is clear, pale yellow and the foam is low, thick and white with small bubbles. The foam dissolves into a thin white lid over the liquid.
The smell is quite straightforward; a fresh flavour of somewhat burned malt and some dry hops.
The carbon dioxide is short and balanced, just right for a German-type Pilsner.
The taste starts with a fine bitterness that mixes with a soft, sweetish taste of malt. The aftertaste is bitter with a small hint of sweetness and white bread.
This is, in a few words, an uncomplicated Pilsner with a no-nonsense approach to things. Perfect on a warm summer night!

Shortly thereafter, the name of the beer was changed to "Bryggmästarens (bästa pilsner)", "The Master Brewer's (best Pilsner)".

easy drinking lager, with decent flavour, lacks a bit of bitterness though, definitely not cheap and nasty, but just lacks a bit of flavour, clean tasting, and on the pleasant, but, generally quite boring, better than most lagers without a doubt.....
