Off-putting dark amber which is reminiscent of a reddish black tea, but the heads on this breweries beers, man! This tight froth defies gravity in it's lacing. Very bitter like their brews are trending on this tasting, with malty presence and smell and taste both dominated by nearly ripened strawberries. Medium body and dry finish.

Fine and foamy appearance in the glass with a handsome very dark amber brew. Lively and creamy carbonation in the mouth. Aroma of candied citrus with some roasted grain. Some flavors of cereal and caramel-tinged wheat.
It's plenty malty with some sweetness. Orange peel hints and a woody finish, with warm straw in the nose. Moderately bitter. They call it 46 IBUs. Quite substantial and plenty drinkable. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at The Goose market on Whidbey Island.

Looks and tastes more like an English IPA.
