Packed with Citra and Simcoe hops, Apex is loaded with flavors and aromas of bright citrus, tropical fruit, and ripe melon. An assertive bitterness stands up to a strong ABV.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and moderate lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, mixed light stone fruit, pine and a little dankness. Flavor is mildly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, grapefruit, pine, faint mixed light stoned fruit with a little catty dankness in the finish, which has nice, lingering citrus rind and piney bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. As expected from one of my favorite paired hops, Citra and Simcoe, I'm a fan of this IPA. The pairing provides fine citrus and pine notes while there are hints of other fruit and a bit of dankness. Bitterness was more assertive than I expected but to my taste. Nicely done.

A filtered dark tan-orange hue with tight frothy head with great lacing and decent retention - odd coloring. More bitter than anything but I get notes of citrus, some meyer lemon and touch of pine resin. Mouthfeel is on the creamier side of dry.
