I was there around midnight on a snowy blowing Saturday night. Not a lot of people were out. There were maybe a dozen people inside. The menu was limited because of the time so this may not be a fair rating. Pizza and appetizers were only available. I had a pepperoni pizza that was good. The girl working behind the bar was friendly and knew the beers. They had a small selection of guest taps also.

 

 

 

 

 

My wife and I visited this brewery visit as part of a 1-day pub crawl, and it was the second place that we stopped in Brighton this day. The brewery's building is the former Shark Club restaurant that had a very good beer bar rating here on BA, but I don't know if the same ownership carried over from that business. It has been open for about one year now. We can't recall from a previous visit exactly the interior atmosphere under that former business, but it likely was just a restaurant feel then, and that's pretty much what it is now (although with all of the TVs in the place and a sporting even on each one, a sports bar may be a better description.) Only some brewing equipment inside a room that is adjacent to the dining area is probably the only difference from our previous visit. There is a patio at the front of the building that would be a good setting for a beer and a meal on a good-weather day.

A nice beer feature at this brewery is that their license also allows the serving beers from other breweries, so in addition to the 13 'home' beers that were on the beverage menu, there were 16 other Michigan beers plus one cider on tap, and all of them made for an excellent selection. We ordered a flight of 5 of Block's beers to go along with our meals. Each was brewed well to the particular style, and each went a bit beyond style so that all of them were scored at a B- grade overall.

The food menu had a selection of small plates, soups, sandwiches, BBQ, pizza and a few dinner entrees, although it is not an extensive list. We liked what we had and gave the food a little better score than the beer.

If we're ever in this area again, we'll go back here for the food and the beer.

Excellent house beer and good selection of other Michigan craft beers. Food is excellent especially the BBQ! Excellent wait staff and bar tenders. House's Blood Red Orange IPA is a must try. Pulled pork and brisket as well.
