In the fourth installment of our M-series beers we teamed up with Mostra Coffee in San Diego to emulate a café miel. Big roasted coffee and sweet honey are complimented with cinnamon to make up this delicious Imperial Stout. The components come out in layers starting with a big nose of fruity honey and a hint of fresh ground coffee, then spicy cinnamon comes to dance around on your tongue with some velvety chocolate notes, and finishes with more honey and smooth creamy sweetness. This is a full-bodied sweet stout that comes in at 12% ABV with only a slight bit of alcohol bite that helps cut through the viscous honey. We chose to make this beer for December to celebrate the year that has passed and as a gift to all of our loyal craft beer drinkers. Cheers to another great year!

I believe this beer is from 2017 and drank in 2025
Look - still looks nice, basically black with nice rimming
Smell and taste - sweet barrel and malts, lost the coffee and cinnamon
Feel - Full body with a very very slight carb
Overall - not to bad for being old

Poured into an Alesmith snifter. Pours a deep dark espresso with a tan head. Nose is cappuccino sweetened with a healthy dose of honey and with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Palate is *very* strongly honeyed, with espresso roast, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, and butterscotch, finishing with a modest cinnamon spice. Mouthfeel is rich and full. It’s a delicious but strictly a dessert beer; almost mead-like for a stout.
