A collaboration with Pulpit Rock Brewing Company.
This rocky road-inspired imperial stout is treated with marshmallows, cacao nibs, Tahitian vanilla, toasted pecans and milk sugar. Before treatment, this beer spent three years resting in Wild Turkey Diamond barrels soaking up all the barrel characteristics.

Bottle at share. Dark brown pour, mostly flat. Sweet chocolaty aroma. Taste is sweet, chocolate syrup, booziness at the finish. Sticky, mouth coating.

The exceptional beers from Pulpit Rock are tough to come by unless you trek out to Iowa. Lucky to find this collab with Abnormal out of San Diego through Tavour. I was immediately drawn in from the flavor profile of rocky road and the fact it was aged for a whopping 3 years.
The result was not expected given the pastry label and description. It transcends that dimension with savory pecans and an exquisite barrel. The dryness is intense. However, the rocky road profile still comes through to add decadence. A masterful performance on this stout.
