October 2nd, 2016 - A simple brown ale, it looks darker than the average in the style, and has a very Caribbean aroma. Jerk and charred chicken are quite noticeable up front, with secondary smells of grape and Elmer's glue. Surprisingly, the flavor is tangy, with an interesting flavor. There's some deep Concord grape notes, but also some pickled grape flavors, like a grape relish. And bubbling underneath all that is a dark cherry note. So far, the best beer of the sampler set!
