Double Barrel started off as an Imperial Brown Porter that made its way into Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels AND maple syrup barrels that also held Bourbon. We then waited, and waited, and waited for the right time to put them into kegs and cans to share it with you!

Picked up some cans at the brewery over the weekend. Surprised there is no reviews yet.
Pouring at cellar temp into my snifter. The beer pours a deep cola brown with a creamy tan head of about .5 cm that fades to a thin edge layer and wispy, almost non existent surface covering.
The aroma is some chocolate malt mixing with a bit of brown sugar and some maple syrup notes. Alittle bit of bourbon and actually some very mild smoky note as well. No hop character nor any real booziness on the nose.
First sip reveals a silky textured beer with medium body and fine yet tingly carbonation.
Flavor is what the nose advertises and what I expect for the style and description.
I get some sweeter chocolate and a bit of brown sugar and the maple syrup again. There is some mild bourbon note and finishes with a bit of roasted malt note and the bourbon lingers a little bit.
I dont get the hops here either, so the beer is consistent from aroma to flavor. Booze is also hidden which is impressive at 9.4%
This is a pretty solid barrel aged beer, glad Ive got 3 more of these in the cellar!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
