one of the less exciting or impressive beers in here, a little husky and hully on the grain side, lacking the refreshing crispness i look for in these, and tasting and feeling a little bit tired overall. just a beer flavored beer with a little bit of european grain character at its center, dry but not very light overall, blonde but not quite sparkling, not as well refined as their best beers. the nose and taste are like liquid bread, a little proofing dough yeast character, a little middle sweetness, earthy and hearty, authentic but the water chemistry or something seems off a little bit, and it could be drier than it is. the hops are there on the back end, lightly floral and herbal, springtime vibes but also some bitterness at the end, good balance to it, maybe i am being too critical, but i like these to pop and refresh, and this one sags to me a little bit. medium body, light on the bubbles, a little bit of a dishwater thing as it warms, doughy from the yeast, stays on the palate too long, not bad but not a standout either. i suppose i have grown critical of this style when not executed to elite levels, there is enough great pils out there that there really isnt room for any of the lesser takes on it anymore...

Clear gold color. Thick but minor head that leaves random spots on the glass.

Rich aroma of golden malt, some raw grain, and lighter bittering hop.

The taste begins similarly to a Helles with more malt flavor than raw grain. The body is rich for the style with ample carbonation. There's a pleasant light sweetness that is stronger than the bitterness from the hop, which makes the finish well balanced.
