12oz can poured into a berliner bowl appears clouded pale yellow with a white cap.

Aroma is lemony lactic, vinous and with a spoiled grain aspect suggesting kettle souring but in a good way.

Taste is tart and lemony lactic with again that slight vinous appeal, apple skins and spoiled grain.

Light in body, lightly to modestly carbonated. This is a pound-able, well executed berliner.

After the fact thoughts: im that much of a nerd that im closing in on having tried almost 200 different examples of the berliner style, most of which ive reviewed on here. This Live Oak version has really lived up to my expectations. I wish I could pound it by the sixer on the daily. Of all the berliners ive tried, this is the top canned offering and top 5 of all time. Well done Live Oak.

This beer pours a hazy very very pale yellow. Lighter colored than lemonade. The head is two fingers, super fizzy and bright white.

Smell is tart lemon, briny salt and a touch of bready malts.

Taste is similar. Upon first cracking it while it was very cold it seemed to be a bit malt heavy, but as it warms a little the malt takes a back seat to the tart citrus and salt.

Feel is light, crisp and well carbonated. Super crushable and very refreshing.

Overall this is a very good beer. Simple yet flavorful and very refreshing. Exactly what I'm looking for with this style.

The best Berliner Weisse I've ever tasted and I try everyone I can.

Luckily they are canning it for this summer, so you should be able to find it in cans in central Texas at least.

If you like Berliners, then buy this one or trade for this one. Live Oak always does German styles excellently.

From notes 7/7/16.

At the source (love their new digs).

Pale yellow with an almost shiny, dense white froth. Aroma of lemon and orange. Tastes slightly tart and lemony with pear and orange as well. The simple tartness lingers. Light and dry of course.

one of hte best berliner weisses i've ever had
nose is a mix of wheat, tart lemon, lemon rind.
taste follows the nose. initially a mild hit of wheat, followed quickly by a deliciously medium tart, lemon, lemon rind.
clean, crisp finish with a lingering lemon.
excellent beer.

On tap at Southern Goods in Houston, TX. I have not seen this anywhere in town, glad to finally find it.

A: Pours a hazed golden/yellow color. At first a two finger white head forms, and recedes in a second. Almost not lace is left behind, as it should be with the style.
S: Almost juicy and tart lemon up front. Bread and biscuit malts with a light musty aroma. Simple, but very nice.
T: Like the nose, this is simple but excellent. Bread and biscuit like malts with a brilliant tart lemon rind character. Just a hint of musty like basement, but overall very clean. Simple, but just incredible. I can't get enough.
M/O: A light body that is perfectly carbonated. Beautifully effervescent and crisp, dry, and clean at the same time. So easy and enjoyable to drink. This is fantastic.

A beautiful example of the style. Which I would expect from Live Oak. To bad this is almost nonexistent in the Houston area, otherwise this would be one of my regular pints. Even more so in the summer. Really well made, and highly recommended.

For the style this is unbeatable. Top 1 Berliner Weiss. super light and crisp, golden yellow hazy, and fairly tart. This is exactly what it should be. Would be amazing to see this with fruit in it

Hazy golden body with a snow white head that sticks around.

Huge bright lemon character to the beer with breadiness and a slight mustiness.

Light, crisp, with a nice sharp tartness.
