Kinkaider Brewing Co. "Dan The Wiser"
12 fl oz. can, seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
Notes: It appears that Kinkaide has made some changes around these "Dan The Wiser" beers. There's this one which is now labeled as a "light lager" at 4.3% ABV, and then there's the "Dan The Wiser Peach" which is made with added white peach at 5.1% ABV and is still labeled as a Kölsch-style beer.
Look: A lightly hazy golden body is capped by a short head of white foam. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweetish grainy malt is accented by orchard fruits.
Taste: As the aroma suggests BUT I am tasting some peach. I may very well be imagining that, or perhaps it's because I just finished drinking their "Dragon Juice". A moderate bitterness balances it nicely.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: A pleasant enough beer that pairs well with food (in my case Japanese).

Light yellow with decent lacing
Vague citrus note to it
Peach definitely a defining flavor here, although doesn't meld well with the beer part and comes off to me tasting a bit like a mineral water flavored with peach and beer. Not getting a fresh kolsch bite.
Mouthfeel appropriate
The peach note is nice but I think it could blend better with the base beer.

Really nice, easy drinking beer. Pour a straw yellow with moderate carbonation and small head. Clean light malt profile with a hint of pilsener malt and crisp finish. It lacks the slight fruity finish that I’d expect but this is otherwise a good Kolsch.

Sampled back on 3/8/16. Comes in a 12-ounce bottle from Broken Bow in Western, Nebraska. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a "CHEERS-BOSTON" handled-glass stein.
Brew pours a clear golden-yellow in color with close to a 2-finger foamy/creamy white head that left spotty lacing when sipped. Aroma is of bready yeast with a hing of citrus zest. Taste is close to the nose also with a light hint of pine and floral hops. Pretty smooth drinkin' with no bitterness to really mention. Crisp and refreshing. Lighter-side of medium-bodied with decent carbonation. Overall a decent brew.

Guess I'm the first one to cut the ribbon here.
Pours a golden pear colored body, with an appreciable haze. 80% opaque, shadows of fingers on the other side. The head is 1 finger, short lived, and leaves a creamy ring on top.
Aroma is tiny, but of pear and apple skins, lemon and orange pith, light bread. Slightly sweet skunky malt lays behind it.
Taste is lime seltzer water with a hint of pleasant fresh bread on the finish. Not much there to remark on.
The feel is the only thing that's right here. It's crisp and refreshing with a light fruity feel, although it does end flawed with a bit of pastiness towards the end.
Overall impressions : This is a far cry from a German Kolsch. When I think of Kolsch I'm expecting a light fruitiness, a mild hop character, balanced with malts, and a yeasty finish. This does none of that. Instead it borders on a watered down IPA. Would not have again.
