Growler into a pint glass
A - Moderate pour produces a 2 finger high head that is white in color with a slight orangish tint. The head is a heavy froth in appearance and dissipates slowly. The beer itself is clear and is a light amber in color with darker amber toward the top. Moderate carbonation is visible with small bubbles rising moderately paced towards the surface. 4/5
S - Very sweet aroma but not a cloying sweetness. Much more malty/grainy sweet. Caramel and buttered white bread make up a majority of the aroma with bits of a light fruitiness reminiscent of pears and peaches coming through. Ever so slight hint of smoke, but not much. 3.5/5
T - Light smoke, caramel, and buttered white bread come out all on top of each other from the get-go. This smoke and malty sweetness permeates the entire tasting profile with bits of peach and pear peeking through from time to time and a light grassy hop showing itself on the back end. Only a very light bitterness with no lingering bitterness after swallowing. 3.75/5
M - Smooth and lightly carbonated. A tad syrupy at times which leads into a creaminess somewhat like an Oktoberfest. Medium bodied and no drying on the back end or swallow. 4/5
O - Not nearly as smoky as expected. Malty and sweet like an Oktoberfest but also a but lighter with some light stone fruit to it. Not very balanced in terms of malty vs. bitter with no real bitterness to speak of. Light and sessionable which is nice and really a pleasant rauchbier for a hot day. 3.75/5
