16 fl oz. can, canned 12/19/22, ten days old IPA not so bad. My first time having this beer from Noon Whistle, about as local of an option for me as I can get. I'm guessing this is the first time this beer has been canned, as it has been added to the database for almost 7 years now.
Poured to clear stemless wine snifter.
Pours a crisp orange IPA body; more clarity than expected, especially going by today's standards when all the Bros want it "haaaazy". Finger of thick frothy soapy white head that leaves good scattered spotty lacing. Looks excellent.
Beautiful fresh aroma: floral, with notes of pine & resin, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, pineapple. ugh so fresh, I love the smell of fresh beer. Slightly pungent, in a good way, with a tiny hint of alcohol fumes.
Taste follows: crisp, floral, piney, bitter, resinous, with notes of grapefruit, orange pith, papaya, mango, clean bready biscuit malt presence, and a dollop of alcohol heat, just a tad more than I would expect for the modest 7.2% abv.
Feel is super smooth, crisp, fresh, clean. Super easy-drinking and quaffable. Minor alcohol warmth is noticeable.
Overall, an excellent fresh and classical IPA from Noon Whistle. Definitely brings me back to the old days of snagging super fresh Pipeworks bombers.
Noon Whistle Rubix IPA -----4/5.
