12 oz can, drink by 05/06/2024. Somehow I've never reviewed (or tried?) this one from Noon Whistle, from the neighboring village of Lombard.
A: Peachy lemony gold color, strong finger of soapy white froth for a head. Spotty lacing. Looks good, fresh, & appealing.
S: Mouthwatering aroma - suuuuuper sour / tart / zesty smelling. Loads of peach flesh, white grape, apple, lemon. Bacterial funkiness.
T: Oh yes, super lovely. Tart, tangy, delicious. Peach flavor is super authentic / fruity / bubbly, gives off champagne kind of vibes. Flavors of peach, green apple, grape, lemon rind. Earthy, bacterial, & yeasty tasting as well. Super flavorful. Love it.
F: Super smooth, crisp, light, easy-drinking. Tart & sour, for sure, definitely acheives good level of sour without being hot or acidic like some beers (some people think these are the same tastes I guess)..
Overall, excellent, I'm honestly going to give it 4.25 across the board, and I'm not mad about it, Super delicious, especially when fresh like this.

Tasted in a tulip glass from draft at Kuma's Corner on June 5, 2021. Look is clear gold. Smell is peach. Taste is tart peach. Feel is crisp. Refreshing on hot day.

For a Berliner Weisse, this was a disappointment. The nose is WAY too peachy. This is almost like a perfume, overwhelming note, you‘re not even sure you‘re smelling a beer - just somewhat unnatural peach. Taste lacks the yeast of a tarditional Berliner Weisse. Probably my number one criticism about the way this style is presented in the US: brewers blend way too much and something not very well matching fruit purees/aromas/syrup in their Berliners. The way the Berliner Weisse has been done for centuries is that you add (if desired) the fruit flavor in the beer as you pour it into the glass. That way you can decide what kund and what amount of aroma ends up in the mix.
Not horrible, just a bit disappointing.
