With similar characteristics to the modern Oktoberfest lager, Festbier is sure to be just as smooth and clean. This lager has a deep gold color, crisp and toasty mouthfeel, and light floral finish. Once you raise your stein to this fine Festbier, there is no putting it down. Prost!

This one was excited to meet me when I opened it up at foamed all over the place... I'm pretty sure it was me so I'm going to have to get another can... But I only bought the one... I never buy in bulk on speculation...
So I poured the remaining three quarters into a glass a beautiful copper color.. SRM was 11 plus... Just a bit of haze and I looked at the alcohol content I'm thinking yeah there's some protein in this... Despite the heartache when I opened it... It poured well and lively little bubbles of carbonation supported the head... Impressive...
Nose is malt... Not much else... But then taste... ooh balance... A high note... Sweet, malt, Crystal malt, caramel... Balanced bitterness... Yes nice... If there's Munich malt it's hiding behind these other outstanding characters.... Wow... Sweetness up the tongue... And bitter to the edges... In a slide back down... What's that... A little butterscotch... Subtle but present... Hmm very nice... That feel is tremendous... I mean there's a roller coaster ride between sips up and down the tongue... There's a lot going on there... Not as sweet as anger which was my number one this year in 2025... But this one dances... A Lot smoother than a polka... though ! I'm adjusting my scores and I think this is going to be my number 2 maybe it gets by the ayinger.... But I've stocked up on those large bottles... I'm going to need me a six pack of noon whistle fest beer euro lager... I'm going to follow up on this one... I'm going to say it right now it's not fast beer it's a true Marsen... None of that watered down palatable make you drink more sort of in Munich type of beer... This is the real McCoy like the old days...

Clear honey colored body with a full finger of white foam. Smells toasty grain, bready yeast, lager malt with a biscuit sweet edge, whispers of honeycomb. Taste has herbal hops added, yeast is fainter but the grains are fuller and toastier, cracker here in a solid way, slight dank lemon in the lingering finish. Feel is hoppier and heavier in weight, good crispness. Hoppier but not in a problematic way

12 oz. can, no date on this one. "Festbier Euro Lager"
A: Copper color body with some decent clarity, good carbonation, two big fluffy fingers of khaki foam head. Looks appealing enough as far as festbier goes.
S: Aroma is grainy, husky, bready / toasty / nutty, with subtle notes of corn.. Bitter herbal leafy European hop presence. Smells earthy, and down to it. Underlying notes of fruitiness, slightly grapey, with maybe a hint of bubblegum yeast if you really look. It's actually fairly layered, I'm digging it more than remember.
T: Taste brings those aromas to life: toasty, bready, nutty, malty. Not as grainy / husky / corny as the nose. Dry lager yeasty finish.
F: Smooth, crisp, clean, medium-light, fairly easy-drinking stuff. Finish is slightly dry & bitter, definitely invokes another sip or two.
Overall, liked it more than I imagined. Oktoberfest is typically more my jam than festbier.

Undated can; drank 8/27/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE khaki head; strong, frothy lacing remained.
Caramel, cream & acorn notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Bitter acorn, faint cream & mild caramel flavors; a watery finish as well.
Thin, watery & bitter; not ideal, at all, for the style.

Bright amber orange, two fingers of foam, a halo of delicate lacing. Toasted bread crust aroma, malt forward. Taste follows, mild astringency and residual bitterness. Not sweet. Light to medium bodied for the style, smooth carb. Overall it’s not bad, a touch too bitter and astringent, but drinkable.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy (70% clarity) medium and bright orange color with a strong, lacy white head that lingers on the glass. (4.25)
Aroma: Mild aromas of orange citrus, some caramel and flower within. Smooth bread malt.
Flavor: Mild flavors of orange citrus, toasted bread malt, Some amber spice.
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied for a festbier. Lower carbonation. A heavier body. Leans malty and sweet.
Overall: An okay Oktoberfest here. A heavier and sweeter festbier. Leans toward a Marzen, but probably milder than most. Rich bread malt, some orange citrus and amber spice. A sweet finish. Not super complex, probably not one I would pick up again given the plenty of other options. (Rating: 3.61)
