This Imperial Milk Stout remains just as smooth, dark and delicious as it's younger brother, Bernie Milk Stout. Aged in Weller Bourbon Barrels. 2019 variant.

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Released December, 2019, had 4/2/21.
Pours a dark brown, mostly opaque, with a one inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, oak, chocolate, malt, some tobacco. Flavors of bourbon, chocolate, malt, oak, some vanilla and char, light caramel and tobacco. Smooth, a good lighter full body, appropriately carbonated.
Certainly good, but not as good as the 2019 “regular” bourbon barrel aged (Heaven Hill, maybe?) or the vanilla variant of that. Those two were delicious and a big step up from previous years. This has lots of oak and is best fully warm. Might have held this one too long.
