A big imperial stout made with coffee from our friends at Tugboat. It has red fruit notes that go together with the rich malty and sweet chocolate characters in the beer.

Released 1/12/23; drank 2/10/23 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big tan head; a thick curtain of lace.
Oak, strawberry & mild fresh earth notes in the nose. Kind of confusing for a non-barrel aged coffee stout...
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Oak, medium roast coffee bean & sweet strawberry flavors; mild booze heat emerged as this warmed.
This tasted like a thin barrel aged stout with strawberry syrup; based on the actual beer style, I'm not sure how they arrived here, and I ultimately wish they hadn't.

12 oz can into a pint glass. Opaque dark mahogany color with a large rocky tan head. Sweet, slightly nutty roasted malt along with brown sugar and molasses. Sweet nutty pastry-like flavor. Not picking up any coffee at all. Medium-full bodied; high ABV is well-hidden.

Not much coffee in the aroma but it brings it in the flavor. But my god this is one sweet stout. Going to need 3 insulin pumps for this thing. Little sign of the ABV which is unfortunate as it could help cut the sweetness. If you are a fan of sweet go for it but if you are looking for a coffee stout I would take a pass.
