I was curious to try this one when it was recommended to me. I'm no stranger to unusual beers and I do enjoy a nice sour ale.
Look: Nothing too spectacular; a warm amber color with an almost greenish tint to it, fittingly enough.
Smell: This beer is, in their own words, lightly hopped, and you can tell from the smell. It has a fairly mild nose, but you do get hints of vinegar and citrus.
Taste: I will say, right out of the gate, that this beer is not going to be to everyone's taste. The taste of pickle is strong, and much like with the nose of the beer, there's a hint of citrus underneath it that keeps it from being too overwhelming the whole way through. It has the slight pungent nature of a sour, and very much tastes as advertised with a finish that's refreshing, yet still has bite to it.
Feel: This beer is somewhat carbonated, and between the sour bite and the bubbling, leaves an almost prickly feel on the tongue. It is, however, very light and easy to drink.
Overall, while I don't think I could recommend this beer to just anyone given its unusual flavor, I find it to be a very tasty sour that's light and easy to drink; I would gladly enjoy a glass of this with a burger on a hot day. Especially for the price, I find this to be an excellent unorthodox-flavored sour ale.
