No Sleep Til Bardstown is a barrel-aged imperial stout that we brewed in collaboration with Binny’s Beverage Depot. This full bodied beer has rich bourbon flavors with earthy chocolate notes making this stout a well rounded, smooth finishing beer. Aged in Ezra Brooks barrels from Rux Low down in Bardstown that were handpicked by the Binny’s team.

16 ounce can into a snifter. A 2022 release, had 6/24/22.

Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch head of creamy foam and light foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, chocolate, malt, vanilla, light licorice, some char. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla, malt, chocolate, some oak, a touch of licorice. Smooth, a lighter full body that has a bit of a thinner feeling, appropriately carbonated.

Pretty tasty. Barrel forward, but they’re full of expressive aromas and flavors. The base could be beefier, but it holds up well enough.

Thick'n chewy looking, very dark brow, nice tan head that faded quickly but left behind a nicely laced glass. Bourbon is a bit upfront, chocolate, tobacco, taste is similar. Smooth and creamy, easy drinker.

Pours a dark black color. Completely opaque. Somewhat thinner for an imperial stout. Thick, huge billowy mocha colored headforms on the beer, lingers for a few moments and then dissipates leavig just a thin layer of foam along the top of the beer.

Aroma has notes of roasted malts, some light oak, subtle bourbon, and a touch of leather and a hint of tobacco.

Taste follows the nose with notes of caramelized brown sugar, roasted malts, leather, tobacco, oak and some light bourbon notes. There is a subtle cherry/dark fruit note to this. It is much better at room temperature - that allowed the flavors to blossom. Trends strongly to the boozy side - almost too much - and certainly more than I expected for a 12.2% stout.

Feel is thinner to medium bodied. Light carbonation. Dry finish.

Overall it is a solid barrel aged stout.

picked up as a mixed 2pk with regular and vanilla variant. poured from a 16oz can into a CW snifter. pours a cola brown but settles in the glass a near black with a finger of wet sand colored foam head. aromas of cigar tobacco, oak, whiskey and, to a lesser extent, chocolate and vanilla. taste follows with much more bitter chocolate than what was evident on the nose. it’s not overly complex, nor is it as chocolatey sweet as i’d prefer but it’s a nice, fairly drinkable barrel-aged imperial stout with nice barrel notes. a medium-full mouthfeel with the appropriate level of carbonation. not exactly thick or chewy but certainly not thin. i’m not very familiar with noon whistle’s barrel program nor have i had many stouts from them but this was tasty. these binny’s collabs are, at the very least, going to provide a nice barrel character.
