Beer: Blue Wheatberry
Brewery: Noon Whistle Brewing Co.
Style: Fruit Wheat Beer
Look – 3.25
Pours pale red, which seems indicative of a restrained fruit addition. Noticeable yeast and sediment at the bottom of the can add extra haze, a touch more color, and noticeably more berry character when fully poured. The head shows a faint pink tint with good retention and very nice lacing.
Smell – 3.5
Fresh blueberry immediately on the nose—almost blueberry muffin-like. Natural and inviting rather than artificial or syrupy.
Taste – 3.0
Lightly tart and tangy up front. Wheat character brings to mind a Berliner Kindl-style weissbier, supporting the fresh blueberry flavor rather than overpowering it. There’s a lingering berry/melon note on the finish.
Feel – 3.25
Light, delicate, and not syrupy. Carbonation is lively, almost seltzer-like, giving it a champagne-adjacent mouthfeel without near the alcohol present.
Overall – 3.25
An easy-drinking, subtle fruit wheat that leans refreshing rather than sweet. The blueberry is natural and well-integrated, making this more about balance and drinkability than bold intensity
