Had this at the Single, Fresh, Wet & Wild Festival on the Sierra Nevada grounds in Chico, CA. Perhaps its because the OG version is so awesome, that I thought this one fell flat in comparison.
Pours the golden color w some light orange into it like the non harvest version, but cloudier. 1/3" white head. Big difference in aroma. So the normal version went with tons of Citra hops, like 6-7 years ago, it was a big deal. Now in this 'harvest' edition, we simply get a fresh hop Cascade edition. I like Cascades, heck, they are part of one of the greatest, and few "perfect" beers out there (SNPA). But here, its just a let down comparatively. You're trading sweet orange for grapefruit rind.
Taste wise, its an interesting look into a single hop Cascade beer, but again, outside of its use as a bittering hop, Cascade has a hard time pulling weight against all the proprietary hops the last decade. There are no off flavors here, its just a very different beer. Its like turn back the clock night for harvest aroma coma.

On tap at Crazy Harry's in Winnetka, CA.
Pours a hazy light orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with tea, earth, citrus fruit, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a somewhat mellow and earthy hop presence all around.
