Not a bad beer by any means. Just not your typical take on your standard any coast IPA. Piney, & very restrained orange citrus. Wood, and vanilla from the wood dominate the flavor profile of this IPA. It actually softens the mouthfeel a bit which I didn't find unpleasant. Drinkable stuff.

This is an IPA which is purportedly ‘barrel-hopped’ in Oak with whole-cone Chinook.
Overall, my impression was just overwhelming bitterness. It had none of the complexity or citrus or pine notes of some of the great IPAs (such as Boneyard, Gigantic, or Double Mountain). It was just all bitter all the time. If the only thing you want in an IPA is bitterness, then this is your beer. Otherwise, it's a pass.
