On tap at Kuni Sama
A: Pours dark brown with a frothy khaki head that quickly settles to a thin ring, and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Big espresso, dark roasted malt, light barrel presence, and a little dark sugar sweetness.
T: Espresso, nice light bourbon accents, vanilla, dark sugar, molasses, and hints of dark fruit.
M: Light to medium body, lively carbonation lightens the feel up even more.
O: I wasn't sure how well a session porter would handle barrel treatment, but this was pretty nice. Always fun to try lower % barrel aged brews. I would love to see a more substantial porter given the same treatment.
